Martin Adams continued his march towards a third successive BDO World Championship title at Frimley Green with victory over Gary Stone.

Adams, the top seed and playing in a record 19th World Championships, was in a class of his own as he beat debutant Stone 4-0 to reach the last eight.

Earlier, 2009 runner-up Tony O'Shea, the eighth seed from Stockport, saw off Scot Ross Montgomery 4-1.

And debutant Wesley Harms of Holland beat England's Robbie Green 4-1.

Harms now faces Paul Jennings, who saw off fellow Englishman Steve Douglas 4-2.

Adams struggled to score heavily - he averaged a little over 90 - but his clinical finishing ensured that Stone never had a look in.

"I know there are a lot of shaky bits in my game," said Adams. "I've still got a little bit of work to do but I'm pleased.

"I'm just taking it game by game, round by round. Hopefully there will be players to push me and that's when I'll find out if I've still got it."

Looking forward to the weekend and watchinhg the climax.

Quite like watching this Pub Team Sport although not a big follower.

Remember watching the Darts final in 2007 though. What a match.

Ted Hankey pulled off the shock of the round at the BDO World Championships by beating second seed Scott Waites 4-3.

Two-time champion Hankey - nicknamed 'the Count' - came from 2-1 and 3-2 down to book his place in the quarter-finals with a 144 checkout.

Number three seed Dean Winstanley threw away a two-set lead in losing 4-3 to fellow Englishman Alan Norris.

Martin Atkins survived a scare against 10th seed Willy van de Wiel to reach the last eight for the first time.

He was leading 3-0 before the Dutchman staged a comeback, but Atkins sealed a 4-2 victory with double top.

In the night's other match, Christian Kist of the Netherlandsfollowed up his shock first-round win against Jan Dekker with an impressive 4-2 triumph over compatriot Geert de Vos.

Defending champion Martin Adams was among those who reached the quarter-finals on Tuesday.

No - it would have been a good reason for posting the original version with Van the man rather than the guy who made money from just doing a pointless cover. :good:
