Our home form is pretty good at the moment, so we need to batter the barcodes seeing as we haven't beaten them in the League for a while.

Szczesny

Sagna
Koscielny
Vermaelen
Gibbs

Song
Arteta
Rosicky

Walcott
RVP
Benayoun

Song, Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain all picked up injuries, but the first two will probably be ok. Oxo apparently had a hamstring strain, so he's likely out for this/the season.

If we're not still in a state of depression, we should win this comfortably. 3-1.

Must win.

Need to get a grip on 4th and not allow our rivals to close in so soon.

2-1 to the Arsenal.

Normally id say after a game like that in the CL we loose confidence and bottle what ever remaining cups, title race were in. This time i think we should be ok tbh, the players new it was a big task, just hope injuries don't affect us too much for this game.

We should win though.

That's not really in our hands but if Spurs slip then we have to take advantage.

The crowd will be right behind them on Monday after the last week or so, need to keep the run and momentum going.

If we can muster the same intensity for this game, the Barcodes won't have much chance. Whether we will do that from 0-0 though, I'm not so sure.

If Spurs lose at Everton (which they will), we definitely won't win.

We never capitalise on other results. We need to play before Spurs or at the same time really.

Someone wake me up when we're 0-2 down and Van Persie has the ball 30 yards out. That's when our match begins.

I'm going with - don't care, season is over, we're shit, we don't stand a chance, we'll bottle it, we're going to get a hiding, we just don't have the quality, this will be embarrassing, all these players need to fuck off, Wenger has no clue, nothing will ever change at this club.

Because that has been working great over the last couple of weeks.

It depends on who will be available .We gave too much against Milan and picked up some injuries but I reckon some will recover and Arteta and Benayoun might be back . Even diaby fingers X .
Sczesney

Sagna Koscielny Vermy Gibbs

Rosicky Song Arteta

Walcott ( or Gervinho) Chamberlain ( Gervinho or Benayoun)

We might have too much power for them : 3-1 Arsenal

Arsenal v Newcastle (2000 GMT)

This might prove to be a more difficult game than Arsenal fans are expecting on the back of their last three performances, in which they have been absolutely outstanding.
Newcastle will be fired up for their trip to Emirates Stadium because it is a big one for them in the race for fourth place. The Magpies were not particularly good against Sunderland, when too many of their players got caught up in the moment, and they will be looking to bounce back from that disappointment.
But how can I not tip Arsenal to win at home with the form Robin van Persie is in?
He is basically unplayable at the moment and was nothing short of sensational at Anfield in terms of coming up with the goods at precisely the right moment. If he had been playing for Liverpool last week then they would have scored four or five goals.
Arsenal have definitely improved at the back too, with Kieran Gibbs, Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny and Bacary Sagna looking like a good unit in front of Wojciech Szczesny.
Fourth place is up for grabs and Arsenal are in the box seat at the moment but there is still a massive reliance on Van Persie to deliver for them and even when he is in the team they can still look pretty ordinary at times.
This is an Arsenal side that went to AC Milan and were hopeless and went to Sunderland and were not that much better.
Yes, it was a great comeback to beat Tottenham, yes they did very well to nick a win late on against Liverpool and yes they were impressive against Milan but, for me, they remain fragile. You cannot be sure you won't see another poor performance from them next time.
Prediction: 2-1

Oxo-Chambo was awlsome in the middle. Home games like this would be the best place to try it out again. Now that some of our midfielders are actually fit, we probably won't see him there again though. I'm expecting WUMger to bench him for this anyway.

Fat Fuck 2 could actually play on Monday, as Gibbs is 50:50 again. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/team-news-santos-diaby-and-benayoun

Have a feeling Gibbs and Rosicky will be rested.

Hope Rosicky isn't! He's finally putting a good run of games together for the first time since 2000. Lets not mess with that and keep playing him until he gets injured. Ramsey won't have to wait too long.

And before Arteta and Ramsey walk back in the team, I wouldn't mind trying that Oxlade in midfield experiment again. It allows him to sit back in midfield and spot who the weak link in defence is, and then he can go running at them. Last time Mesbah. This time it could be Collocini or summat.

Marc Overmars
11-03-2012, 08:09 PM
Yeah Rosicky definitely deserves to play out the remainder of the season as first choice.

Ramsey has had his moments this season but then he's also had a fair few games where he's looked out of his depth. He's not very quick so he can't turn defence into attack like Rosicky can and I don't think his passing is anywhere near as polished as one might think. Less said about the silly little flicks and backheels the better.

Maybe Wenger needs to employ a hypnotist and get him to cast a spell on the chaps to tell them that we are 1-0 down. Seems we can only play well from behind. We need to put this game to bed early i dont trust 5-0 with the whistle not to do us some shit before the game is through.

Marc Overmars

Quite an even game to be fair, Newcastle look fairly solid and I don't think our CB's have got to grips with Ba yet because he's winning a lot of 50-50's and knockdowns.

Rosicky and Theo our best players. Song and Arteta look a little laboured.

why the fuck we insist on slowing the game down and playing through the middle is beyond me.

everytime theo's taken their full back on we've looked dangerous.

also another defensive mistake leads to a goal. typical.

Rosicky and Theo having good games. Sagna too

Just feel that Arteta needs to take a few more gambles with his passes when we're in the final 3rd. More often than not he has acres but chooses to knock it back out wide instead.

Frustrating

I'd sub Arteta and play the same formation we did against Milan, with Oxlade part of a midfield 3 with Gervinho on the wings. The midfield is too slow and sluggish again.

Niall_Quinn
12-03-2012, 08:54 PM
Tippy-tappy is back. Lots of possession, have done fuck all with it. We're making it much too easy for Newcastle. Much more pace required and the ball needs to be moved at twice the speed. This lot are here for the taking if we up the pressure. Gibbs is very poor. He's not a defender, he's far more a wide midfielder. Sagna and Walcott doing well on the other side though. Great goal by RvP, very poor keeping from Ches to let theirs in though. Hope to see much better in the next 45, would be criminal to throw away this opportunity.
