Out of Holloway Rd tube. Cross over the road, turn right, walk about 500 yrds down the road, and it's the student union, under the university, with a big "Red Action" banner on railings by the steps leading up to the entrance. Will be in there watching Spuds & Chelsea, and hopefully LoLing into my pint.

Chavs vs Spurs. Come on the draw. :bow:Draw or chavs win will do tbh.

3-0 win to us against villa.

Cripps_orig
23-03-2012, 12:37 PM
Villa have beaten us a couple of times at home in recent memory. Last season being one of them.

If this was at Villa Park, we'd walk this

I've got greedy tbh and it may all end in tears but 4th is no longer good enough.

With that in mind, I'm hoping for a Chelsea win.

Lets just get 3rd. No fannying about until the qualifiers to see whether we get the millions of CL football. Get some signings in. Say to Van Persie, "Here's £150k a week and here's guaranteed Champions League football, here's a bunch of decent players so you don't have to score every game...but if you still want to, feel free. Here's a fucking pen. Sign on the ....................................".

Hope Carroll plays. Wigan could use his defensive nous.

Tomorrow could be as mental as Wednesday. The Chelsea v Spurs game should be awlsome.

Cripps_orig
23-03-2012, 11:27 PM
Liverpool :haha: indeed

In a way, i feel sorry for them. 18 titles, 5 European Cups but when all is said and done and the world has ended, they will be remembered for one thing and one thing only.

Signing 2 of the greatest defending attackers of all time in Emile William Ivanhoe Heskey and Andrew Thomas Carroll. Spending £46m on the 2 :haha:

I can't decide (if there is a winner beween Chelsea and the Spuds) what is best for us.

Laugh at the losers I suppose is the only way.

Marc Overmars
24-03-2012, 10:10 AM
Has to be a chav win really.

Although a draw would be best of course.

Cripps_orig
24-03-2012, 10:16 AM
If i had to choose a winner then a Spuds win i guess.

Keeps 5th place at a distance

McNamara That Ghost...
24-03-2012, 10:29 AM
Yeah that's what I am thinking. Spuds winning at Stamford Bridge seems fairly unlikely though. Also, I said after Rosicky scored against the Spuds, Torres would score against them, although I was being a bit flippant.

Coney
24-03-2012, 10:35 AM
Tough to call. If chavs are not going to have a late surge under Matteo as the new man, then I'd take a chav win if we can win at Villa and start to pull clear in 3rd. However, if chavs might be a serious threat and hopefully the spud collapse will continue, then I guess a draw is the ideal result. I think the preference is

1. Draw
2. Chav win
3. Spud win

McNamara That Ghost...
24-03-2012, 10:42 AM
We need eight wins to get fourth (Chelsea's maximum is 76 points). And with the places they have to go (Anfield, Emirates, Craven Cottage, Villa Park), that's why I saw the Spuds winning as a more favourable result. I include Villa Park because Chelsea have a terrible record there! Now you mention it though, the difficulty of those fixtures isn't going to change thus finishing as high as possible is better for us, so I can see why a Chelsea win is more preferable.

Marc Overmars
24-03-2012, 10:57 AM
I think 6 points is a good enough cushion for us to maintain with the fixtures left, although obviously things can change very fast as we've seen to our benefit in recent weeks.

Opening a gap over the Spuds ASAP is preferable for me.

If we can maintain the momentum, 3rd is in our hands. While we are likely to have the odd banana skin before the end of the season, the way spuds and chavs have been playing, I expect them to have some unexpected defeats (or even draws, which almost hurt as much). It's a cliche but basically we just have to make sure we grind out the result match after match and leave them to do what they do.

Cripps_orig
24-03-2012, 11:01 AM
I guess the most important thing is that we win. I know thats a bit obvious but win and we definitely go further ahead of one if not both of the 2 teams directly below us. Not too many times that can be said.

Fail to win and its a missed opportunity

Coney

Also, if we can beat the chavs at our gaff, I reckon that would seal CL football and probably practically guarantee 3rd.

24-03-2012, 11:25 AM
I think the Old Boys are getting creamed in the run-in. I'd allow them a win today. Spurs' run-in is kind on paper. Them continuing to disintegrate would have to make the +1 games a bit harder.

Then again, potentially nine points clear of 5th? It's sensible and pragmatic but a bit too Gervinho for my liking.

Coney
24-03-2012, 11:29 AM
The only thing in our hands is today's game so let's just hope we don't fuck it up. If we win, the result of the chav-spud match will only have a possible effect on whether we come 3rd or 4th.

Oh right, anyone who has seen Gallas play. Tottenham are idiots. You can't overtake Arsenal until you stop buying their shit.

Mata is wasted in that team. Nobody else (apart from Luiz, I suppose) has any interest in playing football. Ah well, as long as he's happy with his paycheck I guess nothing else matters, the dickhead.

McNamara That Ghost...

Syn

Adebayor passes and sprints forward 100mph in a straight line. Stupid run, no-one picks him out. He ends up looking like a **** as usual. I lol'd.

Syn
24-03-2012, 01:34 PM
Ooh, thank fuck for that.

Van der Vaart really should've scored the first attempt - hits it straight at Cech.

McNamara That Ghost...
24-03-2012, 01:34 PM
Absolute chaos in Chelsea's area! VDV denied twice, once by Cech and the other by Cashley then Ade heads it over!

0-0 HT. Well that was terrible, apart from that chaos just then.

Dennis Bendtner
24-03-2012, 01:45 PM
This game is so crap I can't believe I persisted. But a draw will do. Where will Adebayor be next season? Not like he's done enough to be worth buying, let alone his wages.

McNamara That Ghost...
24-03-2012, 01:49 PM
Well, wherever he'll go, he'll have a storming two months and then let it go to pieces, again. Maybe he'll replace Santa Cruz at Real Betis (can't believe he is still a Citeh player).

Syn
24-03-2012, 01:50 PM
This game is so crap I can't believe I persisted. But a draw will do. Where will Adebayor be next season? Not like he's done enough to be worth buying, let alone his wages.

It probably won't be 'Arry's decision in any case, but I think the spud fans like Adebayor and the club might well want to keep him. But the issue will be with Adebayor - Spurs, by all accounts, are quite good at their wage management and Adebayor might fancy a move to Anzhi or something.

McNamara That Ghost...
24-03-2012, 01:52 PM
Sturridge. :haha:

GOAL Stoke City 1-0 Manchester City - Peter Crouch
What a goal! A goal kick forward is met by Peter Crouch and then headed down by Jermaine Pennant. What happens next is all about Crouch, though, as he chests down and hits it first time on the volley from 25 yards and dips into the far corner of the net. From Asmir Begovic's kick to the back of the net, the ball didn't touch the ground. Now then, we'll see what City are made of.

 Great goals, the Stoke way.
