If he wanted to get one of their players sent off, he shouldn't have bothered with Opposite because all he was going to do is cry like a bitch on the floor.

Didn't finish Aguero off? It's violent conduct, there's no point even disputing it, just like Big Man did it.

And anyway how many chances is Barton going to get? He is a sack of shit and football would be a lot better off without him.

Shaqiri Is Boss
14-05-2012, 05:17 PM
The guy is a thug.

I remember he took out Alonso in the season they went down, which I think is what Linekar was going on about.

Shouldn't be anywhere near a football pitch.

However, the added time he made happen did mean Citeh took the league off United, and for that he should be knighted.

Pretty low key start to their celebrations as well. Only about 100k out on the streets... pretty poor tbh :ninja:

Didn't touch him. Sorry but I'm applying the Barton vs Arsenal standard here. And as such it should have been Aguero that went.

Did he actually get two red cards in the one match?

$1bn. That's how.

So you think they deserve zero credit for this title victory? That spending money automatically guarantees success?

Even Man Utd fans were willing to credit City for being the best team in the league this season. I can't see why some Arsenal fans are unable to and seem so bitter and chippy, when we don't even have a rivalry with them.

Fair play to the manner in which they did it, it was spectacular and one of those rare neutral moments in football I won't forget. However it is quite clearly all down to the money, every last bit of it. No one can afford to do what they've done, if they flop next season I'm pretty sure they will just go and buy whoever they want for another 30m and 150k a week and start again. Whilst money is no guarantee of instant success, it is a guarantee that everything possible will be done to ensure it happens eventually. There is no sense of achievement in my books and if that makes me bitter then so be it.

The ffp rules kick in next season.

In 2010 citeh posted a loss of £121m.
In 2011 citeh posted a loss of £197m.

According to SSN, they cannot post losses of more than £38m between now and the start of the 2014 season.

That has to be bullshit. They've probably spent more than £38m on Hazard alone. Even if they get rid of a few players, the contracts they've got their big players on will continue to mean they post heavy losses.

They still own Roque Santa Cruz FFS! More players will go out on loan (or probably the same players), it's highly unlikely they will ever be able to sell them.

Unfortunately UEFA can probably only dictate sanctions for their competition, if they just want to dominate domestically (financially I mean) there isn't anything stopping them. Scudamore would certainly oppose any attempt to stop their spending in the Premier League.

Manchester City have apologised to Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson after striker Carlos Tevez held up a banner goading his former manager.

Tevez has also expressed his regret after he was pictured with a sign which read 'RIP Fergie' during City's celebratory title-winning parade in Manchester.

The 28-year-old is thought to have been passed or thrown the banner by a fan as City's open-top bus made its way through the city centre with the squad and the Barclays Premier League trophy.

A City spokeswoman said: "The creation of the tasteless material is in itself reprehensible and in accepting and brandishing it, Carlos has made a significant error of judgement.

"The club wishes to express its sincerest apologies to Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United Football Club for any offence or distress caused."

The sign may have been a reference to a remark by Ferguson three years ago when asked if United would ever be underdogs against City.

"Not in my lifetime," the Scot said.

Tevez, who spent two years at Old Trafford before leaving for City in 2009, said: "I got carried away in the excitement of the moment and I certainly didn't mean any disrespect to Sir Alex Ferguson, who I admire as a man and a manager."

City pipped arch rivals United to the title on goal difference after a dramatic last-gasp 3-2 win over QPR on the final day of the season.

Funny how Hazard is suddenly a mercenary **** for wanting to join a bigger club, with more chance of winning trophies and getting a lot more money. If you were offered a much superior job to the one you've currently got would you turn it down?

I won't dwell on this anymore because people obviously get angry when I say it, but some (not all) of the criticisms against City seem based on extreme bitterness, prejudice and snobbery. It's like when a binman wins the lottery and starts splashing the cash and the respectable, establishment classes turn their noses up at this "conspicuous consumption" and irritating that these "nouveau riche" don't know there place.

That's a stupid comparison because in life there is no sense of competition and what is fair. And life is inherently unfair.
In sport the ideal should be a level playing field. May the best man/team win.
If it's just about may the club with the most money win then what's the point? Where's the sense of achievement?

Football used to be a sport, you know.

It isn't City's fault that the game is like this. They're not the first to do it. Neither were Chelsea actually although they took it to a new level and City have gone even further.

I'm not jealous of City because I don't recognise what they've done as an achievement and I wouldn't want Arsenal to buy trophies so overtly.

Not really. People hate Citeh, like they hated Chelsea before them, for taking the soul out of the game they love. Don't get me wrong, there have lways been the haves and the have nots, and we were fortunate to be amongst the haves back in the day. But even in the early 00's our success was as much down to the way in which our manager innovated/played the game, and SAF has been the same - generally getting more out of his teams than the sum of their parts.

With Citeh - there is little of this. Little imagination; little innovation; little adventure. Just cold, hard, mercenary cash. Why will Citeh dominate the league over the coming years? Because they have an incredible group of players developing and coming through? Because the have a Guardiola-type manager playing a brand of football rarely seen before? Because of their mental togetherness and endeavour? No. Because they can buy 2 of the best players on the planet for each position.

Citeh have subverted the romance of football. They weren't the first to do so and they are the product of the times. But they are the most high profile culprit, and that is why they are despised by many fans.

That has nout to do with City being given loads of money to go an spend on players and winning the league. If a bin man wins the lottery then he got lucky and everyone knows it simple. He did not work hard to win it. Yes people will be jealous etc. But people will also now its not the same as those who worked hard to get their Billions and thats who people will tend to respect more.

And i guess it depends on the Binman's behaviour once he turns rich if he is snobish or not now.
