Silly move in my opinion. He'd only just won them their first double, and coming 2nd is no huge failure after a success of a season like last year was for them.

Not sure who they're expecting to be an improvement.

Sacked by a bloke called Ron in a corridor by all accounts. No class.

As much as I think Wenger should be under more pressure it would be just mental for any Arsenal manager to be under that kind of "win the league or you're sacked" pressure. It's a nonsense decision. Can we have him, Arsenal board kthxpls?

I don't think he can do well with our budget.

Well Abramovich's plan of changing manager so often hasn't failed him in his quest for the Champions League yet has it..

Whilst I agree that sacking Ancelotti is stupid, his record this season has not been good.

Lost the league (although coming 2nd is not too bad); but his team was 15 points behind the previous season's total.
Lost the FA Cup, to Everton at home in the 4th round
Failed to win the CL but did go one round further than last season.

seems like a crazy choice...but why should we expect nothing less of a club that sacked a manager who was within a few inches on winning the CL.

Chelsea might have bought their way to the top but they'll never buy the class United, Liverpool and ourselves have.

Hopefully his successor will be Rafa.

Harsh perhaps, but what an awful run Chelsea had earlier in the season, they were truly awful getting beaten by all and sundry.

But you're referring to Spurs, of course?

I only caught it briefly on SSN but did I see it correctly that 'Arry has been linked with the job? That would be hilarious.

Seem though that Chelski's bad run started right after Ray Wilkins left the club but to sack Ancelotti was harsh and tbf the next manager will need to spend loads as the squad is hardly young.

Makes a lot of sense. Roman has too much cash for 'arry to carry it all away. Chelsea could be the first club that survives his stewardship. Anyway, for even more hilarity, I thought he was lined up as the next England manager? Couldn't make it up.

I could quite easily see him at Chelsea to be honest. If Chelsea want their man they will pay and 'Arry is about the biggest wide boy going, so I don't think he'll turn down the chance to manage another Lahndan club.

'Arry would be a great choice for Chelsea if they want to flirt with the Europa League.

It would be fairly entertaining alone seeing what 'Arry did in the transfer market assuming Abramovich is as carefree with his money as in January. With Tottenham they were bidding £30 million for any striker in Spain they could name.

I'd love to see him manage Chelsea.

Because re-buying Defoe, Crouch, Kaboul and Krancjar would be first on his list. He'd also ruin the Spuds by taking Bale, VDV and Modric.

This has to happen.

And players over here that 'Arry couldn't name. "Charlie Adams" for one.
