Though he maybe more useful coming of the bench in this game.

Chesney (time to turn it around)

Jenks Merts TV Sagna (better on the wrong side than Santos in his natural position)

Arshavin Arteta Wilshere Cazorla

Walcott (sign your contract you **** - over the top and run at their defence all day long, defensively make it 5 in the middle)

Giroud (hold it, distribute it, batter them, time to man up)

No negativity, all out attack, outscore them, don't even think about getting the draw which won't do us any good anyway. Rather lose this one 8-2 again than not show up.

Of course we could have a policy on substitutions that uses Podolski and Arshavin in reaction to what's happening on the pitch rather than some pre-arranged and pre-timed statistical swap out. We could try that just this once.

We all think we're gonna get stuffed in this one, so just go all out attack, IMO.

Arshavin must play. Provided the goal v RPQ and did most of the groundwork last night in setting people up.

Jack/Cazorla/Arshavin = chanc creation. Add Giroud, and Walnut in, and you've got yourself some serious threat up top. Their fullbacks won't be venturing forward that much.

And fuck Ramsby. He's too slow, and will get pissed all over by Evra.

I really don't think Wenget is going to play Sagan at left-back. He loves his pecking orders. We all know there's a 2% chance of Santos not getting roasted, but it would be very surprising if he didn't pick a 'specialist' if available. I think Ramsey and Pod either side of Giroud will happen too.

And Wenger hopes there will be no repeat of the anti-Van Persie songs heard intermittently at Arsenal's previous away games this season.

He said: "I hope it is a respectful reception because he has played for us for eight years, he has done very well for us. You want him to be respected.

Man Utd v Arsenal (12:45 GMT)

Both these teams conceded five goals in the Capital One Cup in midweek but I definitely don't expect to see as many goals flying in at Old Trafford as there were in this fixture last season, when I was there to watch Manchester United win 8-2.
United's 5-4 defeat by Chelsea on Wednesday was a mad game but Sir Alex Ferguson fielded a really inexperienced centre-back pairing in Michael Keane and Scott Wootton, who will still have got more out of that game than some of the more experienced Blues players.
The team Ferguson picks on Saturday will not resemble that line-up and I think they will just be too strong for Arsenal.
It is a really good time to play the Gunners, who fought back to beat Reading 7-5 on Tuesday but have been struggling to find their form in the last couple of weeks. I don't think Arsene Wenger's side have got enough forward power to trouble United's defence.
United are a little weak at the back at the moment but Chris Smalling could be available on Saturday and, slowly but surely, as players like Phil Jones and Nemanja Vidic come back from injury, they will improve defensively.
Arsenal could struggle at the other end too. United seem to be able to create chances at will and have a real embarrassment of riches up front. Ferguson's problem is who to leave out.
The spotlight will be on United's former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie but it is a little difficult the first time you play against your old team because I think you try a bit too hard to prove what a good player you are.
Even so, if it is not Van Persie making the difference up front, it could be Javier Hernandez, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck or Antonio Valencia. Take your pick.
That was one of the impressive things about the way United beat Chelsea in the league last weekend. They picked Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young up front and completely flipped Chelsea's attacking tactics back on to them.
Will Ferguson carry on using wingers this week or revert to his midfield diamond? If I were him, I would be reluctant to drop Valencia, who showed us again what a good player he is.
Whatever Ferguson's formation, after seeing United go to Chelsea and win last weekend, I would be very surprised if they slip up in a game like this.
Prediction: 2-0

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said Van Persie, who was brought to England from Feyenoord by the Gunners in 2004, deserves respect and Ferguson agrees.

Ferguson said: 'I think Arsene has laid his seed for his supporters in terms of respecting him.

'I think, if you think about all the former players who have come back to Old Trafford, they always get a warm applause.

'I don't think he'll have a problem tomorrow. I think the fans will recognise the eight years he gave them and I think that will be nice.'

I remember that just as if it were only 1997. Even our water carrying players like Parlour were direct and powerful and skilful. Anelka, the first of the big names that got away. Chris Wreh - a taste of what was to come. It's a team full of Chris Wrehs now, misfiring ninnies with their tippety, tip tap. Football was just better back then. Not because we were winning but because there was power, pace and a hell of a lot more technique than you see today. Is football faster today? You have to be joking, it's half the speed and boring as fuck.

Just as the real soldier will rush over the top and into the machine guns when the whistle blows. Blind loyalty is fun provided some clever bloke doesn't find a way to milk it. The pessimism here is mostly down to the total lack of trust people have in this team. And that has come about through bitter experience. So there's a gallows humour in play. Everyone will be behind the team tomorrow though (except for Joker) hoping we can somehow pull this one out and get one over on the traitor scum who ran away.

MO is the biggest WUM on here tbh.

Even more sly and deadly than Troll Charlie.

The fact is that we're winning this 0-2. An Anfield-esque performance, with a dominant midfield display and Sagan completely nullifying Jermaine Jackson. Even the officials conspiring to book us every time we're in a 5-mile radius of a United player and sending Cazorla off for smiling devilishly at his Spanish compatriot De Gea won't affect the result.

All this is of course dependant on Andreson not playing. He is terrible and will undoubtedly take up Park and O'Shea's mantle of killing us despite being completely woeful.

It's going to be an open game and we need pace on the flanks for the counters.

He just played 120 minutes when he said he was tired

Of course he was tired then

He isnt now

Wengers had a shocker

But you are right. Why did i think i would he would start? We all know Wenger is regarded by all true Gooners as the worst manager in the business for a reason. I had just hoped he would have seen sense. Apparently not.

Hope is gone

Comfortable 6-1 win for Mancs

Yeah, we should have played one of our other left backs, like... ermm...

Sorry loads of other options:

Sagna
Vermaelen
Jenkinson
Miguel
Coquelin
Hell, even, Ramsey

Not an argument to say santos is our only option. Wenger's got a choice and as usual he's made the wrong one.
