Newcastle have been awful for the last few months, we should win this easily.

We've been kinda lucky with our games recently, bottom of the table Reading, West Brom when they started losing games and now Newcastle who have been terrible this season.

As shit as Barcodes are, I'm dreading this game. Ba and Cisse are both pacy attackers, you know, the type that we have trouble defending against.

Plus I'm not sure if we'll get a pel or two this game. And we're also at home.

Add that to the possibility of Wengbot starting Ramsey, Gervinho and Giroud; or any one or two of the lot. He is due an 'I'll prove you all wrong'.

0-3.

Arsenal v Newcastle (17:30 GMT)

Newcastle were down to the bare bones for their trip to Old Trafford and almost had no choice but to go and attack Manchester United with the players they had.
It almost paid off too but, for me, the question is how much did it take out of them ahead of their trip to the Emirates? I would suspect the answer is quite a lot.

Newcastle failed to beat Manchester United despite taking the lead three times at Old Trafford
Arsenal, in contrast, had Boxing Day off.
The Gunners are going for a third League win in a row and it probably won't be long until their fans start saying Arsene Wenger is a genius again.
Wenger is in and out of favour with Arsenal all the time but I would always back them to make the top four. Even when they are on a bad run I back them again because they always come back.
That is just what Wenger does and, if you look at the quality of his squad compared to the rest of the division, then, even if it is not as good as the top three clubs, then it is certainly better than all the others.
So them making the top four is almost a no-brainer.
Prediction: 2-0

I'm going for a 2-1 to Arsenal.

as mentioned before, Ba & Cisse can hurt any team on their day, and clean sheets aren't really our forte.

Giroud coming back can only help though. Interesting to see who starts upfront now.

To make sure MO gets an honest, non-infantile response to his innocent question, Giroud has been injured and he and Rosicky were then ill so missed the Wigan game.

Walcott and the whole team were good against a poor Reading team.

Walcott and the whole team were sloppy and mostly unproductive against a hard-working Wigan side but we did enough as a team to scrape a win.

People get far more latitude on match threads here as it is then on any other match forum from other teams websites that I read, so I don't really think it equates to wanting to make it sterile or boring. It's just people can't seem to ever accept being asked to not do something. Other forums would just ban you outright for it.

We all know you want Giroud to fuck off, we don't need to hear it about him incessantly when he can't fuck off from a game he isn't playing in.

we played well for the most part, nice finish by Theo but he should have done better on a couple of other occasions. the goal for them was lucky but again we showed our complacency and they had 2 or 3 good chances near the end. i think if anything is needed its gotta be a CM, Arteta is not the player we need there.

Master Splinter

Walcott messed up two chances for us to go further ahead. He needs to make up for that in the second half now, like all good strikers should.

Podolski is probably the most switched on player for once.

Not a good quality game. We could've had a second. Theo with 2 good chances after his well taken goal. First one was a bit tricky but for our 2 on 1 where he fucked up the pass to Cazorla, it was ridiculously poor.

No need to change anything. Just got to hope that Cazorla or Wilshere go up a gear in the second and Podolski and Walcott can take any chances.

Joker
29-12-2012, 06:23 PM
Newcastle deservedly level, they've dominated this half. We've only had two moments of quality, involving Podolski and Walcott. Theo's been lively, and was unlucky with his second chance but should have done better with the pass to Cazorla. Podolski looks very good as well.

The midfield 3 need to wake up though. They're allowing Newcastle to dominate, and not closing them down enough.
