nice looking kit, better than ours.

seems like they met with the main group to get a general conscientious but of course, given how modern society works, unless absolutely everyone is appeased and gets what they want, its time to kick up a fuss.

FENWAY SPORTS GROUP AND LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB PART COMPANY WITH MANAGER KENNY DALGLISH

Search for new Manager begins immediately as owners pay tribute to 'legend' Dalglish

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and Liverpool Football Club announced that Kenny Dalglish is to leave his post today as Manager after having his contract terminated.

After a careful and deliberative review of the season, the Club came to the decision that a change was appropriate. It is not a decision that was reached lightly or hastily.

The search for a new Manager will begin immediately.

Principal owner John Henry was fulsome in his praise for the outgoing Manager.

"Kenny will always be more than a championship winning manager, more than a championship winning star player. He is in many ways the heart and soul of the club. He personifies everything that is good about Liverpool Football Club. He has always put the Club and its supporters first. Kenny will always be a part of the family at Anfield.

"Our job now is to identify and recruit the right person to take this Club forward and build on the strong foundations put in place during the last 18 months."

Liverpool Chairman Tom Werner said it was a tough decision, but ultimately one that needed to be made.

"Kenny came into the Club as Manager at our request at a time when Liverpool Football Club really needed him. He didn't ask to be Manager; he was asked to assume the role. He did so because he knew the Club needed him. He did more than anyone else to stabilize Liverpool over the past year-and-a-half and to get us once again looking forward. We owe him a great debt of gratitude.

"However, results in the Premier League have been disappointing and we believe to build on the progress that has already been made, we need to make a change.

"We are committed to delivering success for our supporters and our ambition remains resolute to return this great Club to the elite of England and Europe, where it belongs."

Kenny Dalglish's departure brings to an end his second spell at the Club where, as a player, he won numerous honours, including six English league titles and three European Cup trophies. As Manager he won three league titles, two FA Cups and of course this season, the Carling Cup.

Dalglish said he is proud to have served such a great Club.

"It has been an honour and a privilege to have had the chance to come back to Liverpool Football Club as Manager. I greatly appreciate the work that Steve, Kevin, the players and all of the staff put in during my time and feel proud that we delivered the Club's first trophy in six years winning the Carling Cup and came close to a second trophy in the FA Cup Final. Of course I am disappointed with results in the league, but I would not have swapped the Carling Cup win for anything as I know how much it meant to our fans and the Club to be back winning trophies.

"Whilst I am obviously disappointed to be leaving the football club, I can say that the matter has been handled by the owners and all concerned in an honourable, respectful and dignified way and reflects on the quality of the people involved and their continued desire to move the football club forward in the same way as when they arrived here.

"I would like to thank all of the staff at the Club for their effort and loyalty. I said when first approached about coming back as Manager that I would always be of help if I can at any time and that offer remains the same.

"Finally, I want to put on record my heartfelt gratitude to Liverpool's fans, who have always given me and the Club their unwavering support. Without them neither the Club nor I would have achieved anything."

Liverpool have lined up Roberto Martinez to replace Kenny Dalglish as the club’s new manager, Goal.com understands.
Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the Reds’ American owners, made contact with Wigan boss Martinez last week through third parties and sources have described the Spaniard as the hot favourite to take over at Anfield after Dalglish was sacked on Wednesday.

As revealed by Goal.com in April, Martinez has already decided to leave Wigan this summer and, despite Latics owner Dave Whelan denying that an official approach has been made, Liverpool are now expected to make a formal move for the 38-year-old, who is also on Aston Villa’s shortlist.

Former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is also under consideration as John W Henry, Liverpool’s principal owner, targets a younger and more progressive manager to mount a challenge for a top-four finish next season.

Martinez guided the Latics to safety in the Premier League this season following a stunning run of form towards the end of the campaign that included victories over Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle and the Reds themselves.

He has been continually tipped by Whelan to manage at the highest level and feels ready to make the next step in his career after turning down the opportunity to take over at Villa a year ago.

Villas-Boas was sacked by Chelsea in March but still has a reputation as one of the most promising managers in Europe and is the leading candidate for the vacant managerial position at Italian side Roma.

But Martinez is in pole position to land one of the most prestigious jobs in English football after Liverpool legend Dalglish following the club’s poor performances in the league this season.

The Scot met the owners in Boston earlier this week but could not save his job after 16 months back at the helm, with FSG particularly frustrated with Liverpool’s failure in the transfer market having spent £110 million on new players. It is believed that Henry and chairman Tom Werner had been leaning towards sacking Dalglish for several weeks and have been considering potential replacements.

The Reds won the League Cup and reached the FA Cup final, but could only finish eighth in the league, 37 points behind champions Manchester City.

Dalglish was left in a vulnerable position following the dismissal in April of director of football Damien Comolli as FSG underwent a major restructuring of the club.

“Results in the Premier League have been disappointing and we believe to build on the progress that has already been made, we need to make a change,” said Werner in a statement on Liverpool’s official website.

"We are committed to delivering success for our supporters and our ambition remains resolute to return this great Club to the elite of England and Europe, where it belongs."

spot on. easy to look from the outside but we haven't spent £100m+ on the club. i guess they came to the stark reality that existing management weren't going to take them to that next level and alongside certain incidents (suarez) that occurred during the season, which didn't make their brand look good, they took the decision to get rid. had it not been kenny the kop would have turned on the manager a long time ago. im guessing the board want to spend a lot of money and reinvest into the squad this summer but if they give the money to kenny again, who's to say he'll spend it wisely this time? they've splashed an awful amount on awful players so there's probably a mistrust there and rightly so.

kenny stabilised the club but he was certainly never their first choice; he took over from roy and had to completely overhaul the squad, get rid of the crap benitez had bought in (kyrgiakos, ngog, nemeth etc), and create a togetherness at anfield. he certainly did all that but didn't take them to that next level, only a top class manager can do that. thats why they've made their decision and although he's a legend, it's probably the best for the long term. it's not going to make them worse is it, they've had a poor domestic campaign. just wish our board were half as ruthless as some of these owners and would inflict some pressure onto wenger.

The problem with most new managers would surely be them needing an overhaul of sorts to be able to maximise their own ability to be successful. I'm not sure what to expect Martinez or Benitez to do with Carroll and Drowning. That is the issue with committing to and backing a manager - as the owners did - and pulling the plug early. Well obviously it ultimately goes back to it being a poor call in the first place. But now surely it'd get worse before getting better for Liverpool. Might be a short-term bounce under a new manager, but the cycle would continue. Depends on how much the Yanks are prepared to back the new man after the amount already spent.

That said, Lambert could probably turn Carroll into Holt and Drowning into Hoolahan. Lots suggesting Martinez is the favourite, though.

Whoever the new guy is, he needs to be there for the long term and given time, money and 100% backing from the club. It never really felt like Kenny got that support, which is understandable as he was never really their choice.

Not a stop gap, or whoever RAWK wants, or a short term name, but their choice.

I would hope there's a bit of movement with regards to the stadium, and the behind-the-scenes jobs if only for the image some stability.

Personally: Lambert - meh, Martinez - louder meh, Rodgers - quietly optimistic, AVB - I can see the pros and cons, Klopp - would scream like a little girl but it won't happen, Rafa - Noooooooooooo!

Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre has paid tribute to Kenny Dalglish whilst rubbishing claims that he had also left the club.

The Merseyside giants confirmed the departure of Dalglish on Wednesday, sacking the Anfield legend after their worst league campaign in over half a century.

Ayre, speaking to Sky Sports News, confirmed that Dalglish was still held in the highest regard by the club.

"Obviously it was a difficult decision, he is a great legend of this football club who has brought a lot, even in this last 18 months," said Ayre.

"But we feel it is the right decision and something we have to move forward with, but lots of praise and admiration for the great man.

"We have a big long-term plan for this club, and we have always talked about moving forward and progress on and off the pitch, we have created a lot of foundation to build the business on and increase revenue and other things.

"But next, the most important thing is football and results were perhaps not where we wanted them to be and that drives the decision."

Quizzed about whether Dalglish could again move to a role 'upstairs' at Anfield, he refused to be drawn.

Moving forward

"Today is about moving forward and the future is for discussion in the future," he said.

He was also quick to deny rumours suggesting that he was also on his way out of Anfield

"Absolutely not, no question of that from my point of view, and no induction of that from anyone upstairs," he said.

"The football club is now in a much healthier shape than it was last January off the pitch.

"The owners have removed the debt and everything is now being put in place to compete commercially and financially with our main rivals.

"The only missing piece of the jigsaw - the most important piece of the jigsaw - is football and success in the Premier League.

"The club has a clear long-term strategy in place to get to where we want to be - on and off the pitch - and that is why changes have been made on both the football and business sides of the club.

"Whilst Kenny is disappointed to have left, he's a man of great dignity and the respect we have for him will never change."

LIVERPOOL last night axed Kenny Dalglish as boss — a month after bosses said they had total faith in him.

Owner John W Henry will now fly into Britain to interview candidates with inspirational Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers understood to be top of his shortlist.

Wigan’s Roberto Martinez, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew and former Chelsea chief Andre Villas-Boas are also in the frame. There was even a betting stampede last night for ex-Kop boss Rafa Benitez.

Liverpool legend Dalglish paid the price for the Reds’ worst league points tally in 50 years, despite his Carling Cup triumph.

Dalglish said: “Of course I am disappointed with league results but I would not have swapped the Carling Cup win for anything.

“Whilst I’m obviously disappointed to be leaving, the matter has been handled by the owners in an honourable, respectful and dignified way.”

Dalglish made it clear he wanted to remain as manager, rather than consider a move upstairs, leaving Henry and Tom Werner’s Fenway Sports Group with the decision to make.

Would Liverpool fans swap a Carling Cup trophy for anything?

Also Rodgers, AVB or Pardew, who do you want?

I'm not sure they understand the fact they've just had their worst season in 20 years. King Kenny was shit. Really, really shit. Not only did he waste money on a lot of average players, he (inadvertently) dragged the name of the club through the mud with his backing of Suarez and unnecessarily hostile post-match interviews.

They won't do any worse with Martinez and only stand to improve if he's given a fair crack of the whip. He's young, has the right principles, worked with limited resources and got an absolute pub team like Wigan to play some decent football. Some Liverpool fans just need to get over themselves really.

We've undoubtedly had a very poor season and the Suarez thing was a debacle from day 1. He was on his own for that one though, there was no leadership from the owners or indeed Ayre, it was all on his back.

But with regards to the press, it's only because Sky are the main source of these interviews, who he dislikes. But generally he's very dour in front of the press, always has been. It could be worse, he could ban those he doesn't like, even his own clubs' channel and in turn be hailed as a media, PR and mind games genius.

For me, Martinez isn't the end of the world but I would also say there are "better" people out there too. I'd like to see that he has a ruthless streak about him too, oddly.

Someone from the AP now saying we've approached at least 4 people altogether so far.

whilst i agree with you that hiring martinez isn't going to be the end of the world, the question you've got to ask is whether he is an improvement on dalglish. if the answer is no then it's quite a baffling decision if you end up hiring him.

the board sacked dalglish because he wasn't good enough to take you into the top 4, and quite frankly he wasn't. but i dont think martinez is either; people say he got wigan to play decent football but 2 months of success does not undo years of sewage. this has been the only season martinez showed some tactical ingenuity; in previous years wigan stayed up due to goal difference, a lucky deflected goal or pure luck. it had nothing to do with wigan playing well or deserving it. this was the first year martinez employed some tactics to get wigan out of the relegation zone and it worked (against us, man utd, toon etc), but once again, i dont think thats good enough. you've got to look at the bigger picture and you should be going for a top class manager who has a proven track record. someone who can handle the pressure at a top club. taking someone from a relegation based club is a massive risk and he'll need time, i dont think the kop will give it him. if you dont get a win in the first 3 games next season there will be underwhelming pressure on him and the kop will turn, everyone knows that. it's too much of a big step; he should go villa, west brom, fulham, a team like that which is one step higher than wigan but not quite top 4 driven. it'll give him some experience before he takes on a big club. taking him straight from wigan is a massive risk and i dont think it'll pay off.

a big question regarding martinez will be gaining the respect of some of the squad and getting them to follow his lead. Roy suffered because of a poor start and there would be unrest in the dressing room and in the stands if something similar happens, making it an uphill journey.

it is hard not to like Martinez so far, due in part to his personality of course but also because he has not been seen as a serious threat to anyone at the top in his time in the Prem. either way he will enter a cauldron of high pressure straight away and i hope he is up to the job - well before they may become a threat to us again anyway.

Rodgers would be ok, maybe. Martinez is probably better on paper than Rodgers IMO but Rodgers is more charismatic but sounds less of a nice guy from what I've heard from him. spot on. it's not just about what he's done at wigan because when you strip it all away, the bigger picture looks bleak. scouting networks, authority, respect are just a few things that come to mind. he's got a very local scouting network (bar the odd signing from abroad) since he's been at wigan and he's been buying quite a few championship players. at liverpool you can't do that. you need top top players to get you into top 4 and it will take a long time to build that network ingenuity. with several key board members leaving anfield too, you really have to question where he's going to get some input from. yes comolli and co got it wrong on several players but they had global market knowledge mainly due to their work at previous clubs. martinez will be struggling in that sense, and with little support around him, is going to be a very lonely figure. just seems bizarre that the board would get rid of an anfield legend and replace him with a relegation candidate. talk about stoking the fans with fire and taking a huge risk. on the flip side he's absolutely amazing with the press and will help promote the liverpool 'brand' across the US, especially with this new behind the scenes documentary they've planned.

there was a good piece written by david conn in the guardian today talking about the changes off the field and the work needed to restructure off the pitch. martinez fits their bill in many ways; a football philosophy, premier experience, young, as you say a great image and perhaps more importantly, happy to work on revised budgets which must surely be the case after last summer.

this season was probably a short, sharp shock to the americans who thought they could just repair their handling of hodgson quite simply with a club legend, and away they go. their baseball side is not faring too well at the moment and a dose of reality in the prem may have forced them work on a slower plan back into the top 4, which given 2-3 seasons, could be achieved by martinez. whether the fans would get on board with that is another thing.

sib - true, he hasn't been hired yet but it's hard to see him saying no and usually the first approached quite publicly tends to go all the way.

LIVERPOOL legend John Barnes has called for the FA to introduce a SACKING window!

Barnes reckons his idea would ease the pressure on under-fire bosses during the football season.

His call comes a day after the Reds sacked Kenny Dalglish following their dismal eighth-place finish in the Premier League.

Barnes said: “I’d like to advocate a sacking window.

“If there’s a transfer window, there should be a sacking window.

“If you hire a manager, you shouldn’t be able to sack him for a year.

"That will mean the fans will support the manager, instead of booing them after two months when things aren’t going well.

“If you don’t boo them, who knows what can be achieved?

“We don’t know what would have happened if Andre Villas-Boas had stayed at Chelsea, or if Roy Hodgson had stayed at Liverpool.

“I still believe it is the wrong decision to have knee-jerk reactions and sack managers."

Dalglish was axed after just 16-months into his second spell in charge at Anfield — despite leading the club to Carling Cup success this season.

The Scot also led the Reds to the FA Cup final but it was not enough to convince the club's American owners to hand him another season.

And Barnes, who was axed as Tranmere boss in 2009 after less than four months in charge, reckons Dalglish should have been given more time.

He said: “Kenny was not given long enough. Managers have to be given time.

"If Manchester United had sacked Alex Ferguson after two years of failure, where would they be now?

“A year is not enough for any manager.”

Dalglish came under fire for splashing almost £100million on expensive stars including Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson — who have all failed to impress on Merseyside so far.

But Barnes warned whoever succeeds Dalglish in the Anfield hot seat to forget about having anything like that transfer kitty.

He added: “I don’t think the owners are going to say here’s another £100m to spend after the previous outlay.

“Regarding the new man, you can look at Roberto Martinez or Brendan Rodgers who have proved they have the right philosophy on how football should be played and are progressive managers.

“If Rafa Benitez comes back, I would support that.

“Looking at the Liverpool squad, you will see a marked improvement, whoever comes in.”

I dont understand why they are not looking at a manager like Capello? This guy is a freaking winner at club level football and would be hungry to prove his doubters in England wrong. Why on earth those Americans want Martinez, Lambert et al is beyond me. They definitely need to show more ambition for the size of the football club.

May be they can take AW from our hands and we can get Capello.

[Liverpool's search for a new manager has been dealt a fresh blow after Jurgen Klopp made it clear he does not want to leave Borussia Dortmund.Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has already rejected an approach from the Anfield club, who are looking for a successor to Kenny Dalglish (http://topics.skysports.com/Kenny+Dalglish/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif following the Scot's sacking on Friday.
Klopp is thought to be one of the 12 candidates (http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/7764668/Ayre-upbeat-about-Reds-search) who are being targeted by Liverpool, (http://topics.skysports.com/liverpool/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif but he is committed to Bundesliga champions Dortmund after leading them to a league and cup double this season.
The German 44-year-old is one of the most promising manager's in Europe after achieving success on a tight budget, but he is under contract at Dortmund for another four years.
And Klopp is staying put amid plans for a better challenge in next season's UEFA Champions League (http://topics.skysports.com/UEFA+Champions+League/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gifafter a disappointing bottom-placed finish in Arsenal's (http://topics.skysports.com/arsenal/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif Group F this campaign.

Sky Sports understands former Denmark star Michael Laudrup is a contender for the vacant manager's job at Liverpool.Liverpool (http://topics.skysports.com/liverpool/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif have begun their search for a new boss following the board's decision to axe Kenny Dalglish (http://topics.skysports.com/Kenny+Dalglish/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif earlier this week.
The Reds are believed to have a shortlist of up to 12 people they want to talk to about succeeding Dalglish at Anfield.
Wigan's Roberto Martinez has already been given permission to enter discussions with Liverpool, while Swansea chief Brendan Rodgers declined the opportunity to hold talks with the Merseyside giants.
Danish icon Laudrup is thought to be in the frame for the post, with the 47-year-old believed to be keen to try his luck in England.
Former Barcelona (http://topics.skysports.com/barcelona/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif and Real Madrid (http://topics.skysports.com/Real+Madrid/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif star Laudrup is highly-regarded in Europe as one of the best young managers around with his brand of exciting attacking style of play.
Laudrup worked as Morten Olsen's assistant with the Danish national side before he took charge of Brondby in 2002.
After four successful seasons, he left Brondby for Getafe, (http://topics.skysports.com/getafe/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif leading them to the final of the Copa del Rey (http://topics.skysports.com/Copa+del+Rey/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif and the quarter-finals of the old UEFA Cup.
Laudrup has since had spells with Spartak Moscow (http://topics.skysports.com/Spartak+Moscow/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif and Real Mallorca, (http://topics.skysports.com/Real+Mallorca/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif who he left last September.
Laudrup has been linked with a move to England in the past and the Dane is thought to have admirers inside the corridors of power at Anfield as they look to bring in a new man to get the club back on track.

LIVERPOOL have made Ajax boss Frank de Boer their No 1 target.De Boer has shot to the top of their wanted list after winning successive Dutch titles.

Liverpool contacted the former Holland defender in the last 48 hours and he has asked for time to consider their approach.

The move will come as a shock to Roberto Martinez, who was given permission by Wigan to speak to the Anfield club following the sacking of Kenny Dalglish.

De Boer is considered the Dutch Pep Guardiola and is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most talented coaches.

Liverpool have targeted the 42-year-old because he has the knack of providing instant success.

He took over from current Fulham boss Martin Jol in December 2010 and, within 18 months, had rebuilt the Ajax team and won two titles.

As a player, De Boer won 112 caps, played for 10 years at Ajax and five seasons at Barcelona.

He also had a spell at Glasgow Rangers.

But Liverpool will face a battle to land their man as Ajax want to keep him.

It's a bit of a lose-lose situation with the owners. They have to get rafa in. There's nobody else that Liverpool could feasibly get that the fans would give a fighting chance. Yes rafa would bleed the resources a bit but either way they're going to get pillared. Tbf to rafa, although he spent a shitload, his player choices weren't bad - got alonso, arbeloa, mascherano, quite a few players who have gone on and done something with their lives. Or maybe I'm looking at it more favourably because we're comparing his deals to kenny's.

Shaqiri Is Boss
23-05-2012, 04:04 PM
I'd hope they just bite the bullet and appoint who they want, not who RAWK want. They tried that with Kenny, rightly imo, and then had to give him a longer contract when things picked up, which was probably the wrong thing, but they couldn't have done anything else.

With most of them it is Rafa or Pep (yep...), noone else, you're right. There is a little bit of revisionism over Rafa, many people are forgetting some of the ludicrous substitutions, tactics, the medium-money flops (many to mention) and those big transfers that didn't work in his later years (Aquilani, Keane) and are only picking out the best bits.

And as I said a few days ago, Rafa has the ability to turn many of the fans against the owners, and I can't see why they'd take that risk. They want a young manager who can have a project to work on for the next few years and an experienced footballing man as a sort of DoF. Hence AVB and van Gaal- I guess the only "confirmation" is that they haven't come out and said no yet.

And then there's the whole stadium situation which will likely mean there isn't £100m to spend every year anyway.

They appoint another fans' choice and inevitably he won't have their 100% backing. And that just won't work.

LOUIS VAN GAAL expects Liverpool to make a formal announcement to mark his appointment this week.

But he will not be drawn on whether it is as manager or sporting director.

Dutchman Van Gaal had a series of conference calls with Liverpool’s owners this week and has told those close to him that he is considering an offer.

Liverpool initially made their move for the former Barcelona and Holland boss with the sporting director’s role in mind.

But Van Gaal, 60, has made it clear he would prefer to succeed sacked manager Kenny Dalglish.

Wigan owner Dave Whelan says Roberto Martinez has been offered the job.

Martinez met Liverpool’s American owners Fenway Sports Group in Miami.

He is due to return from holiday on Tuesday but is expected to hold another round of talks before then.

It has been suggested Martinez will not work under a sporting director.

if it's true martinez is going to hold a press conference this week announcing his next move it sounds like he is not taking the job, otherwise liverpool would be announcing it. the technical director thing is clearly them putting their foot down, doing it the way they are used to working. it works in many countries but implementing it here is a hard sell.

It'll be a great deal for Liverpool if they get Rodgers tbh.

It will take 3 minutes for the first "Buck Rodgers" flag to be made...

I guess that's a plus.

And BBC say deal done.

TalkSport are being unusually cautious about who will fill the 'higher' positions. Does seem like Van Gaal as Director of Football though. Not sure about that, arguments will probably start within a couple of hours.

It's as if they're making it up as they go along...

A disgraceful accusation - unheard of in reporting circles.

It will depend on whether he can take not having 100% control and can work as a team, or even just a partnership. It will placate those who want a 'big name', and a 'footballing brain', though. At least for a while.

I agree, not sure. I can see him leaving after not so long.

As for Rodgers, he seems like the type who can give as good as he takes (fnarr).

certainly is an interesting one. i'd give much of the credit for swansea's style of play to martinez actually because he lay down the ground work; rodgers took over the mantle and accentuated the philosophy. it's like someone taking over brighton this summer and getting them into the premier league in a few years, after everything they've done under poyet and the style of football he's currently implemented. nevertheless we shouldn't take anything away from rodgers and his achievements; he's a good man manager and knows how to handle the media well. he's got a bit of charisma which rubs off onto the players. to be able to motivate a team like swansea to finish 11th shows he has great skill because it' easy to sit back and relax when you think you're safe, only for a bad run to put you right in the relegation mix, just ask ian holloway that. people keep going on about british managers not being given a chance at top clubs well here we have a british manager being given an opportunity, let's see exactly what happens and whether he can handle the pressure. you've got to take a once in a lifetime opportunity and rodgers certainly has, and his brand of football will make liverpool an attractive team next season.

A good point, and one which will probably be ignored completely.

Unless he gets sacked, and then it will endlessly be brought up and we'll be accused of not helping the British game.

I think he'll do well for Liverpool, well, relatively speaking. I still think the squad needs a lot of work to challenge for the top 4 though.
