Deliberate by Vettel on the first lap? He virtually parked the car on the corner. Inevitable outcome given the wet conditions.

Can't blame him for wanting to win the race against Webber though. Why are we getting team orders in race #2 of a long season? Let them race FFS! What does Horner mean when he says it's a team sport? He ultimately means sponsorship money. But there's none of that anyway if the crowd gets bored and pisses off.

Webber came out looking the bigger arsehole to be honest, complaining because he wasn't gifted the win from an off-track decision. He should have just put his foot down and let his driving do the talking. And he was a dick to moan about it on the podium. If he wants the support of the team (who had already secured him the lead by pitting Vettel first and feeding back the tyre info) then he's going about it the wrong way.

Vettel was at no point faster in the race. Only when both drivers were told to turn the engine down and hold position. Webber did, because he's a team player and respectful of his team. Vettel didn't because he's a cunt.

Vettel was at no point faster in the race. Only when both drivers were told to turn the engine down and hold position. Webber did, because he's a team player and respectful of his team. Vettel didn't because he's a cunt.

Makes Webber look a schmuk though. Noone remembers the fair play league. Webber looks like his lucrative contract with Red Bull is most important and like it or not everyone knows he's slower than Vettel.

Vettel IS Red Bull. They made that rod for their own backs. He's an arrogant, utterly selfish, unscrupulous son of a bitch.

That's why he wins. Good guys lose at the sharp end of anything that's ultra competitive. You think Hamilton, Alonso, Schumacher are nice guys with an instinct for fair play? None of them are, but they are winners.

Footballers dive and roll around the ground clutching their faces. This is many, many times worse than anything Vettel does and they do it every week. Scumbags but it's accepted as part of the game (which is shameful and scandalous). Compared to that Vettel the racing driver is being condemned for racing and trying to win. It was the most exciting moment in the whole race when he went wheel to wheel with Webber. This is what we want isn't it? Fuck the teams who want a procession at then expense of entertainment.

I don't like Vettel one little bit, but if I had to put money on someone to win come what may and by doing whatever is required I'd bet on him every time. I think the first lap incident was entirely deliberate, btw. Don't think he was after Alonso as such but he must have known what was going to happen when he parked it.

GP

This is where you're wrong. 'going wheel to wheel' with Webber implies they raced flat out and Vettel won but that's not the case.

It was nothing more than stabbing his own team mate in the back.

Come on, he hardly moved over did he? That's why the team was so panicked. Anyway, only an idiot doesn't expect to be stabbed in the back when Vettel is behind him.

He did but Vettel was able to fend him off - Webber says himself that he didn't let up.

"Of course I ignored the team and I was battling to the end[...]"

It was a dick move by Vettel but this is what you get with racing drivers. Damon Hill said it there on that link, asking a driver not to race is only going to piss them off. Hard for Webber to take being on the receiving end I am sure but the opportunity will come where he can get the advantage and he's bound to take it.

I'm not sure. I understand the principle point. I understand also that a successful team can fail when both drivers don't get treated fairly. But team orders are part of the hard-nosed, money-driven part of the sport. Traditional racing fans, while criticising the spirit in which he behaved, surely have at least a sneaking regard for a faster driver who would not be shackled? Everyone knows Vettel is the better driver. Does Webber need charity to give him a win?

Simple.

Apparently the wind tunnel tyres (60% of full size) that were given to McLaren don't behave the same way as the race tyres, which affects the front suspension which is throwing the whole aero package out of wack.
