I wouldn't be that surprised although I think it will be Podolski. What we would need Podolski to show is better play with his back to goal which I don't think he is so good at. The advantage with Walcott and Gervinho is the pace, but we know the drawbacks. The first one is stupid, the other one is an idiot. In all cases they could easily be marked out of the game but you never know. I don't think Vidic has ever come across anything quite like Gervinho before. Surprise motherfucka.

Somewhat potentially fluid line-up to try to exert some football onto a United team that will have cigars in their mouths waiting to break after nullifying and neutralising our vapid attacks:

Szczesny

GHELkinson
BFG
Koscielny
Gibbs

Arteta/Ramsey
Rosicky
Cazorla

Podolski
Gervinho
Oxo

WengBOT line-up:

Szczesny

Sagan
BFG
Koscielny
Monreal

Arteta
Ramsey
Wilshere

Cazorla
Gervinho
Walcott

0-2 (RVC and Wazza pel after a dive).

We need to double up on the wings because that's where United tend to get the beating of us.

Valencia and Nani have been shite this season but you can bet they'll turn up for this one if Fergie sticks to his failsafe on how to beat us.

United have been dodgy throughout the whole season . i's a surprise they winning the league this season . Maybe because the whole league has been utter shit . The proof is no English team made the 1/4 final of the champions league . It's not accidental . It's a fact .
If we lose that game we will have only ourselves to blame . I can't see anything than home win or a dodgy draw . Most of united players are off-form : Rooney , Young is out , Van Persie will be under pressure and will not be at his best .
Their defense is a calamity to happen . Are we going to be their destroyers ? I wish but we don't have that mental strength at the moment . But if we push them and put them under pressure , the result could go our way . A 1-0 or 2-1 victory on the cards .

I don't have a problem with a guard of honor. The Mancs did so for us.

It means shit and stuff like this is only demanded so the dishonourable pricks who run and promote the game can claim there's honour and sportsmanship in it. Like fuck there is. Same as all the knickers wetting over handshakes and the hysteria over Suarez. Behind the scenes it's a nest of corruption from FIFA all the way down. Grubby little ****s stuffing their pockets. But on the surface it's this one giant pretence. Give them their guard of honour, it's meaningless anyway. When players stop diving and trying to get their opponent sent off, when they stop fucking the fans up the arse so they can get more cash at a deadly rival, when the owners remember who actually pays the bills, when they stop herding slaves into factories in the far east to make their merchandise, when they stop giving the World Cup to tinpot shit holes because the bribery benefits are greatest there, then there will be some honour and then this honour guard thing will mean a fuck.

The fans shouldn't rise to the bait. When Utd come out just don't do anything. Be silent. Say nothing. That works on another level too. Silence will tell our board what we think about them as our once greatest assets runs out on the opposition side having fired our rivals to a title. And it will maybe help our manager remember the fan's interests extend beyond the balance sheet. And it will help our players remember that gutless fucks get no glory or acknowledgement. Fuck, why not be silent for the whole game? The new breed of fans who can afford to go to these most honourable events should have no problem with that.

Arsenal v Man Utd

I don't think this will be a great match.

"I remember winning the title with Liverpool with nine or 10 games to go. We were hopeless in those last few games. The league was a slog, but it was the best competition to win. However, it was difficult once we had won it because we came down off a big high. It's hard to continue at 100%. It only needs a couple of guys to think 'we've already won it' and the performance levels drop."

Manchester United have sealed the title so for manager Sir Alex Ferguson team selection will be crucial. You would never question his players' attitudes, but there may be one or two looking forward to the beach.
There will be chat about going for a total points record, however after many weeks of "come on, we have to win", the championship race is now over so there might not be that edge in forthcoming performances.
It will be interesting to witness the 'guard of honour' Arsenal put on for United. I'm sure the natives will get restless, especially when their former hero Robin van Persie comes through.
Performing one for Tottenham is the only thing worse for the Gunners.
Lawro's prediction: 1-1

They already have a game in hand over us. They have 5 games left each. We have 4 games and if we lose on Sunday and they both win this weekend they'll be ahead of us with a game in hand. The fact the game in hand is against each other is neither here nor there, they'll both be above us already...

Aye but if we lose on Sunday then beat QPR and Wigan it'll be in our hands on the final day. I think mathematically we can afford to lose but it would mean anymore slip ups would be fatal.

Letters is correct. They both win this weekend and we lose, then either losing their game in hand against each other won't be enough for us to get top 4. Once again, our fate isn't in our own hands - apart from having to win all our remaining games after the weekend to give ourselves a chance on the final day of the season.

Luckily, we have a predisposed bottling scum team (though AVB seems to have worryingly instilled a tad bit of belief over at the swamp), and an agent in the form of a Spanish waiter marshalling the chavs, making it highly probable that we'll finish 3rd again this season.

Easiest way to think about it is to pretend they've played their game in hand against each other and both lost.
Impossible, obviously, and better than any real scenario but let's just pretend.
If we lose this weekend, Chelsea and Spurs win.
Spurs are a point ahead of us, Chelsea 2 points. We all have 3 games left. Not in our hands.

But I expect all 3 sides to drop points before the end of the season. Wigan are fighting for their lives and may do us a favour, Chelsea still have to go to Utd, we're little bit shit.

We'll finish 5th and then an eagle eye reporter will notice the spuds transgressed some obscure law governing the distance between the goalposts and the sidelines or the shape of the penalty spot and they'll be docked just enough points for us to grab 4th on equal goal difference but with one more (offside) goal scored. Also, podolski might get 10 or 15 minutes if he's lucky.

He'll get 22 minutes. Or 26 including stoppage time. There''s no way around the firewall protecting our game algorithm.

There was a series of corners that badly disrupted our whole 68 minute game plan and forced us to resort to plan A+1, which is 70 minutes.

It wouldn't mathematically be in our hands however Spurs would need to win at Chelsea to stay above us, which is a huge task for them.

This would so much easier if we could just pull a top result out the bag tomorrow, the team owe us one.

Arsenal team: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Ramsey, Rosicky, Cazorla, Walcott, Podolski

Vital Podolski plays centrally instead of Walcott. Otherwise it looks like Wenger's laptop must be broken and he had to wing the team selection. I think he may have accidentally got it right. Gibbs starting is a bit of a surprise but he'll be injured after 3 minutes so Monreal will be decent cover. Might have played Ox wide and dumped Ramsey to allow Cazorla a role in the middle.

Don't think it really matters though. Can't see us getting near them whatever team we put out. Maybe they could get a player sent off early ( RvP  ), maybe we can pick up a couple of obscene flukes and hang on, maybe Utd have turned up pissed after excessive celebrations?
