Hard to know what you mean by that. Many overrated nobodies of little to no talent have been assigned top jobs. Politics couldn't work otherwise, for example. So when he fails, the observation of him being overrated will be again be validated in the same way his non-event of a career at everton can be characterised. Talk about Mr Mediocre, Moyes is the classic example, with his dreadful anti-football. He may change the habits of a lifetime I suppose, but we'll have to wait and see. Doubt it. Listening to Utd fans encouraging the base to "give him a chance", is indication enough of how Moyes is really regarded, is it not?

Despite Baines' free-kicks, he's not a better player than Evra. And what happens to Dennis Buttner?

Man U have taken a massive gamble on Moyes that's for sure. Knowing those fuckers it'll turn out just fine and they'll just keep on winning but it's still a massive gamble. This guy is as clueless as Wenger in the transfer market, going after players he has no chance of getting.

He's not use to spending money either, at Everton he sold all his players and had peanuts to play with, must be contagious or something.

He's under a lot of pressure, probably wanted a few easy games to get a few wins under his belt as he's got a big shadow hanging over him.

If I was him I'd have spent big on one or two top players rather than chasing players he's not going to get. As it is he has Ferguson's team and noone to integrate to create a team more in his image.

True but the start to the season is important to him, a few bad results and the pressure will really mount and perhaps players will begin having their doubts, they've worked under Ferguson a long time. That's why I think he needed to bring a few of his own players in, to mix it up a little bit.

If players don't already have their doubts they don't know Moyes too well. Baines and Fellaini don't want to follow him there. Rooney wants out. Utd needed to replace Fergie with a huge, huge name. David Fucking Moyes was not that name.

He's still learning about his players so he went in not to lose which was comfortably achieved. He changed tactics from previous games to get what he wanted rather than playing his own game and lose 8-2 like certain managers.

It's one of the reasons why most wanted Mourinho here. His talent for changing it around for each game is second to one.

You change your thoughts to suit your argument cripps. All you do is bang on about how mourinho is the best manager in the world, how his teams are great attacking, how he invented sliced bread, then you come out with some rubbish about how 'he needs time to stamp his authority because he wasn't used to his players'. It's time for the media whores to circle the wagons around their beloved Moyes and the biggest whore in the business has jumped in with an extensive excuse piece this morning: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2410483/MARTIN-SAMUEL-Manchester-United-Ed-Woodward-transfer-blunder.html

Some gems from fatty Samuel:

The wider issue is the damage done to Moyes by his novice sidekick.

Note, it only takes Samuel 740 words to get to the first mention of Moyes. And after absolving him of all responsibility for Utd's farcical transfer dealings he follows it up with some well timed sympathy.

Sadly, an ally who knows his way around the world of Taiwanese tyre manufacture — Federal Corporation are another of United’s new signings — is not what Moyes needs right now.

Poor Moyes, entirely innocent. He really is a huge draw you know, the big players have even heard of him and really want to play for him. But that Woodward guy, you know? What's a Moyes to do?

Good news is Arsenal fucked up in the transfer window too, which is a hell of a relief. For example:

Is Mesut worth twice as much as RVP?

Now don't go thinking about it just blurt out your answer off the top of your head. I do not want to hear about expiring contracts, age and stuff like that. Correct, Ozil isn't worth it. And just to prove the point:

Is Ozil alone worth just £4.4m less than Van Persie and Cesc Fabregas combined (Fabregas cost Barcelona £24.4m)? Without doubt, Arsenal paid the premium that any desperate club has to on deadline day.

One interesting point in all of this. RvP, Fabregas, Ozil? All Arsenal players at some point in their careers. You know what Samuel? Just say thanks for RvP, we built him for you and he won a title for you last year. A little gratitude you fat fuck, please!

Niall_Quinn
04-09-2013, 08:22 AM
Adam Crafton from the same "news" paper today:

The first whispers came that Moyes - unfairly - and Woodward - perhaps with more justification - appeared out of their depth... you would imagine Moyes may be a touch reluctant to rock the boat in his first few months in charge.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2409762/Manchester-United-summer-2013-transfer-window-disaster.html#ixzz2duTwWvMw

Yes of course, when Ferguson had a tough introduction to his Utd tenure and almost got the boot it was probably somebody else's fault as is the case with the unfortunate Moyes. Moyes is the new Ferguson, he really, really is. After all, he's Scottish and I'm sure other similarities will start emerging over time.

Manchester United's owners, the Glazer family, want an explanation from executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward about why the club failed to sign a leading player in the summer. The Premier League champions were linked with star names, such as 25-year-old Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas and 28-year-old Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo, but only bought Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini, 25.

Manchester United remain interested in re-signing Ronaldo. The Old Trafford club had set aside £80m to complete the deal in the summer.

Credit to him for calling out Young though. Have you noticed how the media waited for permission before criticising what has been a decade long problem at Utd?

Credit to him for calling out Young though.

Did he?

Fergie did that as well so he knew that was a safe move.

No-one does, but if anyone ever deserved to have his knee caps dislodged, it's the boy who cried foul. #karmachameleon #treatotherslikeyouwouldliketobetreated

Hope we draw them in the league cup at some stage and #dench off the #bench gets orders from #bouldy. #bashleyyoung

This squad isn't good enough. Only two world-class players in midfield/attack/wings just doesn't cut it. Too many passengers who are unable to really influence games, and with Fellaini we've just added another. We have two other technical, potential world-class players in Nani and Kagawa, but they've obviously slept with Moyes' wife or something.

"If your going to think like that you might as well bring off Rooney.
Maybe this is why we always play Young... to make sure no good players get injured!"

"Eh? If he had not been confusing things United might have made another signing."

Bullshit. Ozil and Hererra could have been completed if we wanted it to happen.

It happened about 10 times today, he'd been in hoards of space on the far left in his 'Ashley Young designated zone' and city were like "its cool, he's shit" and judging by how little our players passed to him, they were probably thinking the same.

Yup.
