Apart from the defence, we can make quite a few changes if all the players are knackered. I presume Gibbs is out for a while again. Which could be as detrimental as losing Feo and Ramsey.

back to the bread and butter and imperitive we win this if we are to challenge for the title, made all that little more difficult with the exertions of last night but id expect many changes to the team.

Ches, Jenks, Mert, Verm (if fit) monreal, arteta, Rosicky, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud, Gnarby.

That only leaves mertesacker as the only player who played the full 90 mins on wednesday and should be good enough to pick up 3 points.

I like that line up... is Ox fit or is he injured? If he is injured, how long is he out for?

Subs for this could be: Flappy, Sagna, Kos, Flamini, Ox (if fit), Sanogo, someone with pace

I would keep with sanogo. Although I don't see any world beater there, but he tries hard and should be given the easier game than the last two. Gnabry should play too if the ox is out. Arteta instead of flam no need for both. Sunderland have improved under poyet so it could be tricky after the match on Wednesday. But no feeling sorry for ourselves just get on with it and get three points.

2-0.

Gibbs is injured again and you have to wonder if this guy will ever have ONE injury free season? always pulls his hammy.

Montreal, over the last few games, has been a total liability and is our weakest link right now. Id play Vermaelen at LB and the others pick themselves.

If the Ox is fit then id start him and Pod on the flanks with Sanogo upfront. Cazorla, Flamini and Jack in midfield. Although when you consider how much ground Jack and Flams covered, one of them at least could be rested.

No we need to go back to Giroud. I think he's got the message and rest he needs now.

As much as Sanago's recent performances have been a welcome relief from Giroud's poor form of late, let's not delude ourselves to think he's been that specatacular. No goals or assists and still looks a long way off being ready at the top level. Early season Giroud is still a noticeable improvement on Sanago and something we need to recapture if we want to make a run for the league.

I doubt it to be honest, he's one of the crocks we keep on the books that misses half a season every every season, personally I'd call it a day and sign someone else who can play most of the time as we can't keep carrying injured players, it's one of the major problems at the club.

Giroud has been awful for ages, I'd pick Podolski and Sanogo over him. Podolki will get goals and Sanogo keeps our game fairly free flowing, Giroud just slows everything down with his lack of pace and headers backwards all the time, I really don't like to see him in the team these days, because our play becomes congested and very slow with him playing.

Sign him up please ARSENE!!

Looking more mobile without Ozil?

Do Ozil and Cazorla just get in each other's way?

Regardless Poldi is putting in a top shift and hope Wenger realises that having a proper wide player in the side makes a big difference to our shape.

HT 3-0 nice passing, cool finishing. True enough, a poor Sunderland but by being careful with the passing and having a bit of pace we have stopped them getting a sniff.

Outstanding performance from Tony Gale. Can he keep it up for 90 mins or will he run out of steam and top himself?

Sunderland were a form team and its great to see the togetherness of the players and the fans.

Merts and Kos just showing what a great pairing they are sniffing out any attack and chance.

I just hope Wenger can move things around later in the second half to keep some of the others fresh.

Giroud + 5 central midfielders behind him = shit given that he has no runners ahead of him and is always isolated and every central players comes centrally clogging the midfield

Giroud + at least another attacking wide player = decent given that there is another outlet and a player to make runs behind

I don't think Giroud is world class but he is good and if Wenger had the balance of the team better with a pair of decent wide pacey players I think we could easily make do with him. Anyway lets hope that Wenger will properly invest in the summer (have been saying that for the past 8 years of course)

No wonder everyone in Spain hates him, everyone in Italy hates him and only the sycophantic and deplorable half-wits like Samuels and the English press pander to him.
