Patience! We look like we are in the process of one signing for a forward. I'm sure that is not the end of it!

While we do need to improve the defence, we also need to get couple more players who can put the ball in the net reliably.

He studied and received a first class degree in Mechanical engineering (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanical_engineering) from the University of Bath (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Bath), choosing to study there during the summers of his time spent at Arsenal.

Purely as a player I'd say Henry edges it but I don't want to get into that debate.
Bergie gets extra points for finishing his career with us though.
One thing we can all agree on though, we were bloody lucky to watch a team with them both in at the same time.
Man we were good back then.

As much as I think Bergkamp was better - he was the catalyst for our change in style that led us to success, I would never be critical of anyone that thought Henry was our best ever.
On your final remark, 'amazing' hardly does how good we were justice, yet some Arsenal fans look back at that period as the benchmark for how we should be now, and that is simply unrealistic and unfair.

DENNIS BERGKAMP has been appointed Ajax's assistant boss.

The ex-Arsenal hero had been in charge of the youth system but has been promoted to first-team duties with former team-mate Frank De Boer.
Bergkamp, 42, has not yet signed a contract but took charge of first-team training yesterday.
Although he spent the first seven years of his career with the Dutch giants, he has made no secret of his desire to one day coach the Gunners.
He said: "I would advise everyone to work in England, as a player or a coach. It just breathes football."
Ajax striker Mounir El Hamdaoui, 26, who is wanted by Fulham, will be allowed to leave.

So many racists, xenophobes and general bigots airing their unsavoury views, while the mods sit and do nothing, apparently because they believe in "freedom of speech" and don't like political correctness. That's a complete kop-out IMO.

It's called freedom, something hardly tolerated any more. Words from people with no power never hurt a fly and yet we jump up and down in fury at the prospect of a nobody telling us what's on his mind. Yet when a fucked-up psychopath like the racist, murderous cunts in government tell us all it is necessary to murder children to be safe and free, not only do we accept that shit as normal and reasonable, it gets broadcast on the news. It's the people who want to control what others say that are the problem. How are you meant to understand or associate with another human being in any meaningful way if there are visible and invisible constraints on communication?

Nicklas Bendtner wanted to quit Arsenal when he was left out of the Carling Cup final, which he has labelled his "worst moment in football".

Sunderland loanee Bendtner joined the Black Cats on a season-long deal on transfer deadline day but has already made it clear that he does not plan to return to the Emirates Stadium, having become frustrated with a lack of opportunities under Arsene Wenger.

He can recall exactly when he made the decision that his time with the Gunners had to come to an end, and it was a game in February that proved pivotal to their campaign.

"I can point to a precise moment I knew I had to leave," Bendtner told The Journal.

"It was when I looked at the team sheet before the Carling Cup final and saw that I was not going to start. It was my worst moment in football.

"I was sad, stunned and disappointed beyond measure.

"I had played all our matches in the competition, scored goals and I was feeling really sharp.

"I felt things would never be good for me again at Arsenal after that."

Arsenal lost the game at Wembley 2-1 and their season unravelled from that point on, before a difficult summer and poor start to this term.

Bendtner is nevertheless expecting a difficult clash when Sunderland travel to Arsenal after the international break on October 16, although he will not be able to play.

He added: "That is frustrating but hopefully the lads will do well. It is a tough place. We know how Arsenal will play. We will have to try to get something out of the game."

Bendtner has made an impressive start to life with his new club and struck up a good understanding with Stephane Sessegnon in attack, but he now wants to help Sunderland improve on their current position of 16th in the Premier League.

"How do I think it is going at Sunderland? We have great players here. It is down to us to prove that and not just talk about it," he said.

"We would rather show on the pitch that we should be on the other side of the table. I am sure we will in the weeks to come after the international break. We are good enough and strong enough, but we just need back- to-back wins."

Bendtner added: "You can see Sessegnon and I are starting to gel together.

"We are trying to find each other, look for the balls to put one another in in training.

"We put a lot of work in to see if we can find the runs and the goals we do in training.

"I was delighted to get my first goal. Sessegnon pulled it back, I saw the tackle coming in and I hit it.

"It took a deflection and it went in. It was a relief. It is always special to get off the mark.

"It was always going to come at one point if you keep putting yourself in among the chances."

Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has voiced his displeasure at continuing to be number two at the club this season.

Fabianksi has been limited to just one appearance this season, in the Carling Cup.

Compatriot Wojciech Szczesny is Arsene Wenger's preferred option, and whilst Fabianksi looks to be ahead of him in terms of Poland selection - he knows that a lack of first-team football could affect his chances at Euro 2012.

"If my situation doesn't change I'll consider asking for a move," he told The Sun.

"If I want to go to Euro 2012, the only way I can persuade the coach to take me is by playing well on a regular basis."

If he manages to stay fit then that's great, problem seems to be he keeps getting injuries and therefore almost never plays. If this goes on for another 4 years we could have used that money to sign someone else theoretically.

Would have been good to say to him we'll give him another couple years and then review it after that.

Chezza is a fuckin legend. I love him! JW and him are on the way to be Arsenal legends. I just hope AW strengthens the team and gives these world class players the chance to win things. Since TH14, this is the first time I am tempted to buy a jersey with a players name..

Wilshere’s behaviour is the worst I’ve ever seen in my 38 years as a cabbie. No one deserves to be spat at because of the team they *support.

Yeah they do.

Spitting is a bit gay.

I'd rather he punched the cabbie like a proper ghel. None of this poncy, foreign spitting shit.

Anyway, it's all a bit pointless because it obviously didn't happen.

Agree with Syn

Good on Arsenal and Wilsheres family for playing along with this joke by saying the following

Last night a family spokesman said: “Jack is only 19 and adjusting to life in the spotlight. He realises his *behaviour was wrong and he is full of remorse”.

Arsenal added: “Jack apologises for his actions and *understands his behaviour was *unacceptable. We take this matter seriously and it has been dealt with internally.”

Spot on. Watching Cesc yesterday - the hair looks greasey and his challenges are getting really bad. Turning into a GHSL (Greasey Haired Spanish Lad).

One of the barmaids who works when I DJ on a Friday night is best mates with Carl Jenkinson.

Apparently he's looking for a new house. He had been living at home with his folks, but is too embarrased to have the lads round (Frimers, Oxo and Theo apparently) because he has posters of RVP and other Arsenal legends on his bedroom wall

According to her, he turned down quaruple wages from City to join us because he's always been a gooner and didn't want to play for anyone else.
