if we can keep this to another 8-2 Im counting that as a win.

Arsenal 2 (rafael own goal x 2) - Manchester United 8. (Van persie x 8)

About time we beat this lot but I'm not expecting much. Couldn't even score against them last season when they were rotten.

Depends who the ref is. If we get someone who at least makes a decent pretence at being fair then we'll grind out a bore draw. Otherwise Arteta will get sent off for wearing the correct kit and we'll lose.

our saving grace is united are pants right now too

is fallacy going to be available? with their attacking options and our defensive options I think we could see 8 exceeded!

I think this will be a draw as neither team can face defeat.

We've given up the title so may as well give them 3 points #whogives, is the pre-match Wenger pep talk.

I'll be there, wishing I'd settled for a curry and a film instead; RvP has only scored 3 this season* so we will gift him back into form with a hatrick and exchanging shirts with Alexis as they walk out the tunnel to start the match 1-4 (Alexis with ours of course).

*no idea if that is true or I dreamed it tbh

He'll probably play Bellerin knowing full well Di Maria could give him a roasting, then he'd hold the performance up as proof as to why Monreal should play CB and Chambers RB.

Kenny Sansom and Gus Caesar in for Chambers and Monreal

Eddie McGoldrick for Flamini

Other than that same team as against Swansea

Montreal at CB + an out of form and knackered 19 year old rookie at RB against Di Maria and Rooney.....

1-2 to them. Wenger's lack of balls against Man ure will be a key factor and we'll lose.

i think united's defensive injury crisis make ours look like a walk in the park. blind is now injured along with jones, rojo, evans and carrick. plus de gea has a broken finger. with all these defensive injuries on both sides it has a hallmark of a 0-0!!!!

I know its not exactly using internationals as a form guide but we have 6 England internationals and I think having seen most perform. I really fancy our chances now on Saturday. United have more defensive problems than we do and I know they have Di Maria, Rooney, Mata, RvP and Falcao but we have Sanchez, Welbeck (who I think is getting better and better), Walcott, Wilshere and the Ox (who I think should play).

The back fours will probably be Chambers, Merte, Monreal, Gibbs v Raphael, McNair, Blackwood (or something), Shaw and when Raphael is your most experienced defender.... you know you are struggling.

We will thump them and RvP will be sent off. 4-1 to us.

Our mental block against Utd coupled with the fact that out of all the players you mentioned for us, only Sanchez seems like he gives a toss will mean that we will draw this.

The Mental block is more about Wenger being a chicken againts man ure (esp at OT) than the players IMO.

a 0-0 wouldnt surprise me. the big teams will all beat Man u this season (at home) which makes it more frustrating.

Herbert_Chapman's_Zombie
20-11-2014, 03:02 PM
Don't think it's a mental block, I just think we are very easy to play against, we have scored three goals in the last five games against United because they know how to snuff us out as an attacking threat.

On Saturday they will come for a draw, and even with massive personnel loss in defence they will get at least a point because they won't push up looking for a win, without Blind they probably won't try to engage in a midfield battle, they will sit deep allow us to dominate territory and Posession and then look to break when the opportunity arises and if our midfield lacks its usual discipline than that will leave our defence looking vulnerable.

Where as Wenger will probably say believe in your quality and you will win the day, don't let tactical restraint be a barrier to your innate quality

He has the tactical philosophy of Ned Flanders' beatnik parents "we've tried nothing and were fresh out of ideas"

Evans, by their standard, is a miss. Sanogo has scored more goals than Falcao this season and Smalling is Smalling. They're in good shape. The media has set this up so if they lose it was because of a supposedly weakened team and if we lose then we lost to a supposedly weakened team. Mind you, if we lose then we deserve all the flak that will be coming our way. If we lose we'll be below the worst Utd side I can recall.

We better be winning 4-0 or I'm putting Strictly on tbfh.

Wenfer will almost certainly go with the tried and tested and 100% proven Monreal at CB, Chambers at RB and Flamini on the pitch. So this will likely be a 2-2.

If he somehow develops a sane streak and plays a more balanced and positive team, we could get a win if Sanchez and Ox continue their recent form.

WUMger gonna WUMger though.

On one hand I can see Van Gaals thinking in that he has opted for the most experience down the flanks where most of our pace attacks will come from, rather than trying to put Smalling in at centre back, but two against three in the midfield could be a mismatch unless he's banking that either Ramsey or Wilshere will drift wide to protect Chambers against Di Maria

Not sure I'd trust Bellerin much more than Chambers against Di Maria

The sensible thing to do would be to stop the full backs bombing forward (shaw and smalling wont be getting forward much) and focus on stopping crosses coming in Rooney and Van Persie will have the beating of Monreal in the air all day long.

Arteta and Wilshere were the reasonable midfield choices, I'd have personally picked Rosicky over Ramsey because Ramsey is playing and acting like a cunt.

This is what you get for playing at 50% all the time. 50% is nowhere near good enough in this league. But that's how Wenger has them playing, 50% effort, 50% pace, 50% passing, 0% crossing (well you can't have everything).

Always looking for the ridiculously complex when simple will do. Like just now when a simple through ball would have been a goal. No chance of that.

Didn't watch the end as I knew we'd find whatever it took to lose.

Only we could gift such a shit Utd team. Dean of course was an absolute scandal, but that was expected. Wenger was inept, clueless, incompetent, but that was expected. We were up against an amateur defence so we played tippy tappy half paced shit, but that was expected. The only thing that would be unexpected if Wenger takes some responsibility for this. He won't. he can't. Because the only effective action after a home performance like that against a direct competitor who was on their knees - not only have we lost but we gave the scumbags a hand-up - it to resign. He really needs to dothat now. But he won't. Only thing keeping him here was the fact he could do enough to keep us in the hunt for a CL spot. But it looks like that's beyond him now. regardless of the upheaval, he has to go. No way will he though. He'll say we were unlucky after a spirited performance. He's delusional.

The Cat was an AKB

Blamed the United result on Mike Dean and bad luck, thinks the players aren't carrying out Wengers master plan and that people who cannot see the genius of Monreal at centre back don't know what they are talking about.

Still though seems an out of proportion riposte
