Well just over a week to go till Haye vs Klitschko fight so how do people think it will pan out?

Think myself Haye has s good chance as long as he doesnt take to many big risks and try to knock him out too early as the bigger guy sure can hit!

Really excited for this as it's been 2 years in the making and we haven't had a proper heavyweight clash since Lennox Lewis v Vitali Klitschko.

That being said, i don't fancy Haye's chances in this. I think Wlad will frustrate and then take him out in the middle to last rounds

We still ain't with this fight.

Boxing for what it was not for what its become, when more people would prefer to watch to Middleweights(Mayweather vs Pacchio, if it happens) than heavy one you know its time change the sport.

It will be hard to call, but haye needs to win or he will be finished

Promoter Frank Warren believes David Haye should retire after failing in his attempt to unify the heavyweight division with a points defeat by Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday.
All three judges scored the Hamburg fight (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/14004150.stm) in Klitschko's favour.
"I think he should retire," Warren, 59, told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek.
"He's got money in the bank so why does he need to fight on? He was a great cruiserweight but hasn't got it at this [heavyweight] level."

If Haye does step away from boxing then he will leave with a record of 25 wins, 23 by KO, and two losses.
The London boxer moved up to heavyweight in 2008 and opened with a win over Monte Barrett (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7727154.stm) before beating Russian Nikolai Valuev (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/8347139.stm) a year later to take the WBA crown and become the first British boxer since Lennox Lewis to hold a world heavyweight title.
He followed those with victories over United States fighter John Ruiz (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/8602329.stm) in April 2010 and fellow Briton Audley Harrison. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/9187329.stm) seven months later.
Warren added: "Valuev was one of the worst heavyweights and Harrison was a non-fight. The contest against Klitschko was his first defining fight in this division and I don't think he won a round.
HAYE'S HEAVYWEIGHT RECORD

Continue reading the main story (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/14005661.stm#skip_feature_02)

2008: Monte Barrett, win, TKO 5th round
2009: Nikolai Valuev, win, majority decision
2010: John Ruiz, win, TKO, 9th round
2010: Audley Harrison, win, TKO 3rd round
2011: Wladimir Klitschko, defeat, unanimous decision

"He got well beaten. He wasn't in it and didn't show up."
British former WBC champion Frank Bruno said Haye will decide for himself whether it is the right time to retire.
"I'm in no position to say that Haye should retire," the 49-year-old told Sportsweek.
"Haye will do what Haye wants to do. He'll be remembered as a very, very good cruiserweight. But heavyweight and cruiserweight are two different cups of tea. Harrods and Primark."

Haye said he would retire from the sport (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/13741467.stm) by his 31st birthday in October but former opponent Harrison believes it is unlikely he will make good on his promise.
"I'm living with the same thing now: it's very hard for me to think about retiring coming off a defeat and the way I lost," said the 39-year-old 2000 Olympic super-heavyweight champion.
"I know David's a proud fighter and I know retiring on that performance will live with him and he'll want to come back in a couple of years' time to rectify that.
"So I expect you're going to see David Haye back in the ring again just like you're going to see Audley Harrison back in the ring again."

FLOYD MAYWEATHER last night sensationally admitted he is ready to fight Amir Khan in England.

Khan, who meets Zab Judah tonight in a world title unification scrap, is ready to step up from light-welterweight to welterweight.

And Mayweather, who returns to the ring in September after a year out, wants a showdown with the Bolton slugger.

Mayweather, who beat Ricky Hatton in 2007, said: "Hopefully, I will fight in England to give my fans what they want over there.

"I would love to come to Wembley and fight. I don't know if Amir has enough to test me but you don't know what can happen."

mayweather did absolutely nothing wrong last night, he capitalised on 2 mistakes that ortiz made. ortiz should never have headbutted and when he did, he should have protected himself knowing floyd was mad about the headbutt.

floyd done nothing but use his experience to ko ortiz. joe cortez clearly says 'box on'. this gives the fighters the go ahead to fight. in football we are taught to 'play to the whistle', and this is no different. joe cortez then turns his back and looks at the time realising he didn't do that prior to saying 'box on'. floyd then ko'd ortiz.

if anyone is to blame its cortez for not protecting fighters, which is his number one priority in the ring. he wasnt even watching the fight when floyd swung for ortiz. how does he know floyd didnt headbutt ortiz to the floor? or high kick ortiz in the face?

ortiz was well on his way to getting ko'd in round 7 or 8 anyway, he was eating floyds right hand like a lion eating its prey.

joe cortez has always been controversial and loves the attention. its time for him to step down. otherwise one day he'll get a fighter killed in the ring.

and pacquiao beating floyd? dont make me laugh.

furys on a different planet to harrison.
fury has decent speed and actually has raw power. he's tall and has a boxing brain. audley was just a big guy turned boxer because the heavyweight division was poor and he knew he could make money due to lack of good fighters in that division.

the guy fury fought last night took povetkin - another unbeaten heavyweight touted to be the next big thing- all the way last year.
yet fury ko'd him in 5 yesterday.

that tells us fury's a decent prospect.

Mayweather is such a knob.

Ortiz headbutt was wrong but what Floyd did, was just completely unnecessary. He was outclassing Ortiz but then chose to ruin the entertainment for the fans and rob himself of a legitimate win, which would of meant something. Sucker punching him proves absolutely nothing.

Amir Khan v Pub Teamer tomorrow night live on Sky

actually peterson's well respected in the boxing world. he's a very good fighter who took ortiz all the way. why khan even took this fight is beyond me, peterson got off the canvas about 4 times against ortiz and managed a draw in the fight. he was going to cause problems for khan since day 1.

should have gone for someone else, the last thing he needed was a loss.

but then again Peterson didn't actually win the fight against khan. ive yet to see one scorecard apart from the judges ones that have shown peterson winning that fight. It was a blatant hometown decision and khan has every right to be fucked off.

as for froch, he got truly outclassed but ward's a quality slick fighter so no shame in that.

Khan reckons that there was a conspiracy, beyond that of the shitty ref, involving a guy who can be seen on camera talking to and handling the scoring slips at ringside during the fight, which is illegal. They want the governing body to either rule a no contest or issue an immediate rematch since without that, the fight is unlikely to happen because Peterson has now signed with the promoters Top Rank who don't see eye to eye with Khan's promoters Goldenboy.

He's been found out a couple times now by mediocre opposition and yet he still fancies his chances against one of the great

Amir Khan says he wants to fight Floyd Mayweather by the end of 2012 following a spring rematch with Lamont Peterson.

Khan's comments come after the World Boxing Association ordered a rematch between Khan and Peterson, after the Briton claimed ringside wrongdoing.

"I have a 10-week training camp so I envisage the Peterson [rematch] to be in April or May," Khan told Sky Sports.

"But my ideal opponent is Floyd Mayweather. Hopefully I can fight him before the end of the year."

Khan said he would never fight Manny Pacquiao, whom Khan trains with, but believes a fight with Mayweather is realistic.

But the Bolton fighter remains focused on proving that his defeat by Peterson last month was illegitimate.

The WBA has confirmed the rematch will take place within 180 days of the initial bout.

"I want to get that rematch and beat him,'' Khan told BBC Sport. "I want a fair fight, somewhere neutral like Las Vegas or Los Angeles, with neutral judges and a neutral referee.

"Credit to Peterson because he fought a good fight, but I will go out there a second time and knock him out convincingly," he added.

ROUND 11: Only three men have taken Klitschko the distance so if Chisora can get through the next six minutes, he will at least have achieved that. He has definitely given a better show than David Haye did against Wladimir. Klitscko hits on the back of the head and is spoken to by the referee and Chisora reverts back to his big swings, and misses. Vitali is back on top as we enter the final round 9-10.

It baffles me how people expect heavyweight boxers to behave like courteous, decent sportsmen acting with great humility.

They're not golfers, or snooker players. These are blokes of 18 stone, with little education behind them, who are going out there to beat each other to a pulp, to suddenly expect them to behave like Terry Griffiths or Arnold Palmer, seems a bit shortsighted.

It's great when you get a Bruno who's a nice guy & Lennox was always very eloquent, but they can't all be like that.

Any other sport, probably even most other weights at boxing, this last week would be completely unnacceptable but there's a bit of leeway with heavyweight boxers. I don't want them to be nice blokes who always shake hands & asks how each other's holidays were. That's for every other sport to do.

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko says he wants to punish Dereck Chisora for his antics in Munich by knocking him out in a rematch.

Chisora was involved in a number of controversial incidents before and after his unanimous points loss to the 40-year-old Ukrainian on Saturday.

The British fighter first slapped Vitali at the weigh-in, then spat water in his brother Wladimir's face in the ring, and was finally involved in an instantly infamous brawl with David Haye at the post-fight press conference.

However, Chisora earned many plaudits for his performance during the bout itself, taking the dominant champion the distance and constantly fighting on the front foot.

And although Klitschko was a clear winner in the end, he has stated he still wants to give Chisora a brutal payback for his actions.

Revenge
"In spirit, I have no need for revenge, but my ego tells me that this man deserves real punishment. I want to knock him out in the ring," he told German newspaper Die Welt.

However, Klitschko's manager Bernd Boente has ruled out the possibility of a rematch, believing that calls for another bout may be his fighter's emotions getting the better of him.

"A rematch is absolutely inconceivable and won't happen," Boente said.

"Of course, Vitali has been affected emotionally, but a fight is not up for discussion and we will not offer Chisora a further platform."

Klitschko was also present at the press conference which produced the chaotic confrontation between Chisora and Haye and admitted he was shocked by what he saw.

Klitschko added: "I saw it all from the stage, I thought I was in some kind of film. Sooner or later in life a man gets his just punishment.

Low
"You can't behave like that as an athlete or as a normal person. This was lower than low, I thought it was a play act and just for show, but then I realised that it wasn't.

"He must be sick in the head, when you think of all he has done.

"The slap in the face, he spat at Wladimir in the ring, then he fought at the press conference and threatened to shoot someone.

"How can anyone behave like that? It's unbelievable, I can't believe it. What is in this guy's head? Everything I have seen of him is just a nightmare."

But Klitschko made it clear that he also has no sympathy for Haye, who claims he agreed a deal to fight the Ukrainian before talks fell apart.

"They are both cut from the same cloth. The same thing applies to him (Haye) as to what I said about Chisora," Klitschko said.
