The Big Four are the Top 4 seeds due to how Wimbledon make the seedings, which I think is the first time in a long time.

Fed and Djokovic on one side of the draw, Muzza and Nadal on the other - again just like back in the day.

Muzza has Bublik. He could have Kyrgios in round four and Stan in the QF. A bit tough.

Fed has Dolgopolov, he could meet Dimitrov in the fourth round.

Nadal has Millman.

Djokovic has the Art Attack Statue, otherwise known as Klizan.

If Nadal loses, not only would it be a shock given Nadals excellent form in 2017, it gives Murray a reasonably clear run to the final

As usual the draw opens up for Murray, unbelievable how lucky he gets at Wimbledon. Didn't want Mueller to win as he'll get knocked out as soon as he meets someone else decent, these nobodies only have one good match in them and then never produce again, makes the tournament a bit sh*te in later rounds.

Thought that point the ref overuled which lead to a first serve rather than a second serve was a shocker, awful rule, should just be a 2nd serve again.

Also Wimbledon match scheduling is awful, they should have moved Djokovic to centre court or something clearly this match was going to go on

Also Wimbledon match scheduling is awful, they should have moved Djokovic to centre court or something clearly this match was going to go on :slap:

His luck in the draw might have something to do with the fact that he's world number one.

Quite frankly after tonight, whoever played Marin Cilc on Wednesday would have got bulldozed. Rafa Nadal has had an exceptional year, and he absolutely blitzed everyone to win the decima of Roland Garros titles but there's a reason he's only twice made it into the second week at Wimbledon since 2011 and it's because the surface tends to fuck his knee.

Your dislike of Murray aside, he's done exceptionally well to fly the flag for British Tennis in the way he has. I don't regard having to play Djokovic in two of your three grand slam title wins fortuitous. And on his day Murray can beat anyone on grass (took Federer apart in the Olympics final only weeks after having lost to him in the Wimbledon final).

I don't think he will win Wimbledon this year, I think that's going to be whoever wins the likely semi final between Djokovic and Federer.

Fed took Dmitrov to the cleaners, and I think if he plays with the assurance with which he played against a tough serving opponent like Mischa Zverev. I would make him favourite, Raonic has done well to get past Sascha Zverev who I believe will be the next multi grand slam winner but I don't see a repeat of last years semi final.

Not in this case, what I meant is the fact that at Wimbledon the top players on his side of the draw often get knocked out and he then gets to play some nobody who beat one of the top seeds in his one and only great match, that's not down to him, that's luck.

I don't rate Cilic that highly, sure he's good against the lower ranked players but against the top players he get dispatached pretty easily, I think Murray pretty much has a walk through to the final now with Nadal gone, that's why I wanted Muller to lose, it would have made for a better semi-final. As for the grass, it's actually better on your knees than the harder surface as it reduces impact on the joint, the only issue is players slipping, I'm not too sure why Nadal isn't the same player he use to be on grass, from what I saw yesterday his shots don't seem as accurate or as deep and he played a lot of shots back to the centre of the court, a lot of them also lacked the bite they do on clay.

Nadal wasn't ever going to make it to the semi-final stage, Wimbledon is gone for him these days.

Low bounce (comparative to clay) fucks him up; it doesn't benefit him to be able to play with such heavy topspin with the ball not bouncing high - plus for the opponent it doesn't leap up on them as severely.

On clay he can slide, combined with his ridiculous energy, he can be an absolute brick wall - it's more difficult on grass to do so.

He doesn't need it anymore, he has won it twice - reached five finals in a row (of when he played). Very similar to Federer on clay really.

It's a bit unfair to say Murray often gets the top seeds in his half and gets knocked out, that's not his fault. I think you could level the same accusation at many a slam triumph and I will point out, he has won Wimbledon only twice!

Dimitrov is a quality player, but Raonic is a one trick pony, all he has is his serve the rest of his game is pretty average. Sure he beat Federer last year but that was Federer in awful shape and form.

Not surprised to see Raonic getting thumped, Federer is playing some great stuff and he doesn't have the weapons to hurt him when he's playing well. He got shown up by Murray last year as well, the final was a massive disappointment as Murray dispatched him with ease (just like he did at Queens a month before).

You might be right but Muller has no pedigree at all, this was his one off win of his career, Nadal would have made a better opponent further down the tournament.

You might have a point, his shots defeinitely don't seem to have the same pace and aren't as accurate, he seemed overpowered by Muller which is odd to see, he may not need it anymore but after quite a few years of underperforming you can see he wants it.

The draw often opens up for him, it's not his fault but he just seems to get the rub of the green for some reason, not this year obviously where his hip injury put pay to his chances in the end.

He is a one trick pony but it's quite a trick, someone who can deliver a 130mph second serve clearly is not going to be broken easily.
Federer playing well but also take into consideration that Raonic had to endure a tough five setter against the guy for the future Sascha Zverev.

True and this works well against the lower ranked players, but the top players handle big servers much better and often manage to return them, which then leave players like Raonic with a problem as they have no other game and can't compete in ralleys.

I think these 5 setters obviously take their toll but that was his only 5 setter so I'm not sure it has too much bearing, the limitations in his game are the real issue.

I'm not trying to claim he's a champion in waiting, I'm saying he can be a bloody nuisance to play against. Of course the top seeds usually best him but I'm saying is Federer is doing so comfortably which is credit to Federers current form.
