On the circus goes.

Three Leicester players are in self-isolaton.

Play on.

No mass gatherings, except the football supporters, they don't matter.

Play on.

They want to control the rate at which the virus is spreading but don’t believe stopping mass gatherings of thousands in multiple cities will help with that. Weird.

Boris even said that mass gatherings would not cause an increase in contagion. Which makes perfect sense if you think about it. The more people you get clustered around a carrier, the less chance there is of the virus spreading. It's obvious when you are "guided by science*".

*Science is the surname of some incompetent moron who the government have hired to run this shit show.

I'm actually watching the press conference and the question about closing stadiums come up.

This gonad science guy says that you're only likely to infect 2 or 3 people in close proximity, like at work for instance.

Does he not realise how football stadiums work or does he think all grounds are like Wigan and have two rows apart between fans?

What you're forgetting is they've all actually stood in those environments with their measuring kits. It's not like they are pulling guesses straight out of their arseholes. I know you have probably seen those alarmist videos that show sneezes erupting at close on 200mph and spreading over copious areas. But the CV19 sneezes only moves at 2mph and covers a distance of 2 inches (fact checked by Facebook). So it's probably okay to wander into the middle of a 20K crowd during a pandemic. You need to "follow the science" (funding). You can't go wrong if you do that, although prices may go down as well as death.

With Arteta testing positive the Premier League will have an emergency to decide if they want to keep the money rolling in or not.

Hudson-Odoi tests positive.

Definitely these matches will be postponed.

It's insane if not.

Marc Overmars
13-03-2020, 06:28 AM
Yeah I don’t see how they can carry on for the time being. Every other league has taken steps to halt the spread. Infact every other sport has cancelled whatever events were scheduled.

Meeting this morning to decide.

Niall_Quinn

It'll be suspended. There's a strong economic argument that if you kill all the fans the revenue will go down. This is going to be tough for a while on the PL bigwigs and the legions of middlemen who share at the trough. But if they stick together, avoid panic and maybe come up with some clever merchandise featuring COVID19, they'll get through it.

Marc Overmars
13-03-2020, 09:36 AM
Everton have gone into self isolation now because a member of the squad had the symptoms.

'At a news conference on Thursday, Clarets boss Sean Dyche talked about the potential of matches being played behind closed doors or being cancelled.

He said: "We have to be as professional as we can and go with whatever is decided"'

Pity he doesn't think the same about the (very) occasional ref who penalises his players for trying to maim the opposition

Highly likely.

I tried watching it a bit of this but there is some weird buzzing noise like a vuvuzela - no not Jamie Carragher.

Had to turn it off. I'm struggling to retain much interest in watching these matches except for the Arsenal ones.

Will follow the scores but watching the matches, it's just souless, more than usual that is.

Embarrassing.

Embarrassing that 2 days after 3 white people were murdered in a terror attack their lives apparently don't matter. Unlike a career criminal who once held a gun to a pregnant woman's stomach during a home invasion, or a drunk driver who, while on parole for child abuse fought with, stole a weapon from and attempted to use said weapon on a police officer.

It wont be a forever and a day thing. Its not worth hiring a plane for and certainly not worth getting upset about.

Whats worse is people pretending that there really not an issue behind BLM. Nobody who hasnt committed any crime should have heart palpitations at every sight of the police. Or lose their life if they dont call a policeman "Sir"
