Opening ceremony is on in a few minutes.

Don't feel particularly great about where this is being hosted but that's not the athletes fault.

It's the year for it, with the World Cup in Qatar later on in the year.

The ROC v USA will be unmissable - just like the old US v USSR matches - total carnage

No it won’t.

US and Canadians are made up of a bunch of nobodies.

nobodies can still cause carnage though can't they?

The standard will be poor. Really, really poor.

As for “carnage”. Prepare for disappointment of monumental proportions. International hockey, Olympic hockey in particular is devoid of carnage.

Even the NHL is pretty much devoid of the stereotypical outsider view of hockey.

I went to see the Rangers play at MSG - was super disappointed as there were no dust ups. They were playing the New Jersey team too so it was kinda like a NLD, or I thought it would be.
There were literally people with opposing jerseys sitting next to each other. All a little disappointing tbh, it seems like more of a social thing over there than the tribal football we have here.

In the women's team pursuit for speedskating final: One of the racers for Japan crashed out on the final lap giving gold to Canada. Brutal.

Women's Ski Cross, Daniella Maier was bumped up to bronze at the expense of Fanny Smith from Switzerland.

Maier was not happy about it, which was nice to see.

Managed to get through the full Beijing ‘Games’ without watching a single second of it.

Also, Letters, if you think curling goes on forever, you should’ve seen it before they brought in timers.

Fun to play, a complete snoozefest to watch.

I don’t agree it’s boring but definitely one where edited highlights are preferable to watching live.
