There are about 98 players on that squad list. I doubt most of them will take part in the game.

Nah, it's just his name was pre-printed on the team sheets - out there on the wing. Wenger would Tippex it out but the price of British Tippex is outrageous and unjustified.

It seems like Bendtner already knows where he's going so if he's willing to play (which he probably won't anyway) then it means he's probably off to a lower status club, I think most of us would have guessed he'd have to take a step down to get first team football.

If they refuse to play, force them to train with the youth team. I've had enough of these two tossers thinking they're bigger than the club, it's time to put our foot down.

Nice thought, but in reality they call the shots. Ultimately we can't afford to blow £20mill keeping Lesbo here - I was in favour of that at one point before it became obvious what this toad's game is. Plus Fabregas (unless he is prepared to commit the rest of his future here) will go through this whole going/ staying business ever year and the club loses, especially as Wenger gave him the armband. We're looking more and more like a laughing stock every season, time to find some experience and committed players we can stick on 5 year contracts and get out there and go for the PL all guns blazing. Of course the two of them will probably leave on August 30th...

Really doubt we'll be winning this game tbh, with us having to rely on Chamakh upfront. And if we do draw/lose the game, we're in deep trouble given our poor away record in Europe.

In some ways though, it may not be the worst thing to get knocked out of Europe, allowing us to concentrate on the league and the cups (where we have some chance of winning something) We're never going to win or even compete effectively in the UCL, it's just a cash cow for the corporates, so footballistically speaking it won't be the end of the world if Udinese dispatch us.

I know, but anyone who's watched him play for us since December 2010 will know he looks a player completely short of confidence and ability. Yes, if he can recreate the form he showed in the first two months of last season, that'll be a big relief but all the evidence we've seen suggests he can't.

Wenger - Bendtner could play on Tuesday

Arsène Wenger says Nicklas Bendtner could be involved against Udinese on Tuesday night even though the Dane may still leave Arsenal.

Bendtner has been strongly linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium this summer and the manager has confirmed that his future could lie elsewhere if he finds the right club.

The 23-year-old admitted that he was after a move while on international duty recently but Wenger revealed on Monday that he might feature in the Champions League this week.

“In his interview Bendtner said he was gone, but I checked and he’s not gone at all!” he said.

“I promised I would let him go if he found the right club and that has not changed because when I make a promise I keep it.

“But if he doesn’t find the right opportunity he will stay and fight for his place like everybody else. He looks sharp in training.”

It's encouraging in the sense it didn't sound like a man who was at ease with the job he has. It was fairly self-aggrandising though. Funny when he said he brought all the great players we have had to the club so his judgement shouldn't be doubted so match - then later he admits it isn't just him working on transfers currently, they have a scouting network across the globe.

In recent years we don't expect to deal with long throws or aerial threat, but one thing we're sure as fuck meant to be half-decent at is technique. The first-touch of most players is, at best, average for top division standard. Our players need 2 or 3 touches to set themselves before making a pass longer than 15 yards let alone a shot.

People keep focusing on the final ball...but we're not 'nearly' creating chances. Far from it. Even working the ball to a position in which we can play a final ball is proving to be very, very difficult. Cutting teams open relies on being able to play the ball quick enough to manoeuvre some space. By the time a player traps the ball and gets in a position to play that ball, the opposition defender has closed the gap. It should be a split second; if not first-touch, one touch to steady and straight through. But from the pass, the control isn't instant...it's far too slow.Iif the final ball seems slow it's because we're taking too long to play that pass.

Fair enough but i still expect a pro footballer to be able to trap the ball and make a 10-15 yard pass as standard. Can't see them scoring cos they keep making daft decisions in the final 3rd and keep playing their corners short instead of fucking putting the ball in.

I'm talking about players under no pressure looking up and then playing a horrendously misplaced pass, or players who can't cross even when they have all day, or simple headers, the very basics of the game. We can't seem to do that any more unless the ball is going backwards. Frustrating.

I think you've been the better side. They are really really really really really bad at defending and their midfielders are awful & lazy. I thought italian teams were supposed to know how to organise themselves and stuff at the back. This lot clearly don't know how to do that. The number of times that your players got into a massive space between their midfield and defence was just plain awful and it came to nothing cos you guys like to pass the ball to death. A more direct team would have scored at least 1 more goal from such a position.

First time in a long time Chamakh has looked as has Rosicky, the mistakes have come from Ramsey. The midfield has looked dynamic and available in attack and defence.
