This would be Arsenal all over, staggering around the league like a drunk and then suddenly sober for the Utd match. But Howard Webb and at Old Trafford, that's one hell of a challenge. I think we'll need two goals to beat them.

I'll be happy if Frimpong charges Rooney in the first minute and gives him an almighty kick in the bollocks, grabs the ref, whips his red card out, shows it to himself and walks off to call Piers Morgan a cunt on Twitter. That'd be a good result.

I wouldn't be.

He'd be stupid not to do Evra while he's there.

Can a red card be shown to someone ineligible to play? Even if it isn't, I'm sure they'd dredge up some rule to extend his ban.

I certainly am. While we did lose, it was not because they played us off the park - it was pretty even. Their first goal was a jammy accident - if we'd had half of that luck we'd have been a goal or two up before that. We weren't brilliant but neither were Liverpool.

Outplayed us is not the same as playing us off the park. I think they outplayed us for stretches, particularly in the middle. But yes, neither side was that great. Not until afterwards when Jamie "CockGobbler" Redknapp declared Liverpool to have been magnificent.

How to win this one tactically? It's just so difficult. They look a little stretched in defence, let's be honest. However, our attacking options looked blunt in our last two EPL games. As a result, I can't see us scoring any goals up there and I can't see any realistic scenario in which we could win.

If they decide to play the aerial game against us (which, surprisingly, they haven't recently) then we don't stand a chance with our defence.

I hope you're right, I really do.

I'm still dreading this, we'll have a patched-up defence, an unbalanced attack with no Gervinho and our only experienced player in midfield will be a guy who's played 20 games in 3 years. We might pull something spectacular off and get a draw but with the mancs in good form, Webb with the whistle and our team barely hanging together, I can't see it.

"The work he has done in the 15 years he has been at the club is the best in Arsenal's history," said Ferguson.

"Yes, he has not won a trophy for six years but what does that mean? The quality of his side has not been reduced. He still has great quality in his teams.

"The competition is far greater now. When Arsenal and ourselves were going head-to-head, that went on for about eight years.

"It (the criticism) is a bit unfair of course. But who understands fairness and unfairness today. It is quite a cynical world. Supporters are far less easy to please than they were 20 years ago. It is disappointing.

"I would like to know who is going to replace him."

Tickets were £3 20 years ago and quite a few of the players drank in your local (especially before kick off). Plus the quality absolutely has been reduced, I'm not sure which team Ferguson is comparing but I know which team he'd rather be facing.

From YOungguns blog.

http://younggunsblog.co.uk/2011/08/wenger-takes-reserves-to-old-trafford/

Arsène Wenger has put a selection of fringe youngsters on stand by ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United, as the Frenchman’s selection headache continues, Young Guns understands.

The Gunners will give fitness tests to Thomas Vermaelen, Johan Djourou and Bacary Sagna this morning, with the latter complaining of illness on Saturday. Ignasi Miquel and the fit again Armand Traoré are both ready to step in if they all fail.

Elsewhere, the suspensions to Alexandre Song and Emmanuel Frimpong mean Francis Coquelin is in line to start at Old Trafford. He only returned from international duty with France Under-20′s on Thursday, but trained with the first-team on Friday, and is thought to be preferred to Henri Lansbury.

Like Coquelin, fellow countryman Gilles Sunu also returned on Thursday, and should be named on the bench, due to injuries to Ryo Miyaichi and Benik Afobe. Both of whom have been ruled out for around 10 days.

Joining Lansbury, Miquel, Traoré, Coquelin and Sunu in travelling to Manchester, is Dutchman Oğuzhan Özyakup, who has been promised further first-team involvement after signing a new contract this summer.

It seems Miyaichi and and Afobe are doing their best to copy their senior teammates

Francis Coquelin will start instead of Lansbury, hardly surprising at all. :coffee:

Wenger has fucked us in the ass. Does he not see the difference in that line up to the one he had in 04/05? Does he not see the fuckin need for experience in there?! God damn, that team looks shit!

I'm pretty sure Wenger knows that Song and Sagna have played more games than Jenkinson and Coquelin, it's not exactly rocket science, is it?

Lot of goals in that team if Man U want to take the game to us, which given our patchwork defence is more than likely.

I don't know why but after bricking it about the game for a week I'm kinda optimistic, we don't know how these two teams are going to mix so if Coquelin is any good and Djourou remembers how to defend, we could get something.

That's a scandalous, scandalous, fucking scandalous team. We're going to get relegated this year if injuries are any worse than normal, which they are shaping up to be. Song should be fined for being a stupid cunt - for starters. Gervinho - twat. Our coaches, fitness trainers, medical staff - sack the cunts. The board? Lock the boardroom doors and burn them. Wenger, if he doesn't get it by now then he never wanted to get it in the first place.

Can see us getting a result here. Maybe 2-1 to us.
