We'd do OK in the Europa cup, we wouldn't win it though...it's been demonstrated the current lot don't have it in them, we need to sign some leaders.

Out of those choices, win the Europa League.

You mean collapse in the final?

Well obviously it would be nice to win the Europa League rather than nothing at all. It's a shite competition though and would only gain my interest if we made the quarters.

Can't we do both?

From those options with the Europa, obviously.
It's the Carling Cup of Europe but it would be a trophy.
That said I have absolutely no interest in being in the Europa league, I struggle to work up much entheusiasm for the CL until the knockout stages.

If you want to be realistic about it then yeah.

I have to say the Champions League is hardly captivating either, in recent years it's been really boring to watch. I'd enjoy it more if I genuinely felt we had an outside chance of winning it, as it is in the last few years I've just been waiting for us to reach knockout stages and get beaten by the 1st top side we meet.

The group stages are a bore.

I'd prefer it if it was a straight knockout competition without the group stages, think it would make it more interesting.

The CL is a a bore as a whole even last years Semi's were boring tbh.

CL Only as if by some perverse miracle our esteemed manager does have some players he wants to buy, then the fact we are in the CL even only for a few rounds then it may sway a decision on the incoming players behalf.

No chance of us making top 8 with the current squad if we qualify for the Europa League.

Fuck that shit tbh.

it's funny how much disrespect english clubs show towards the uefa cup/europa league.......with the cup winners cup gone it's moved up a peg or so.....and I don't remember Arsenal not taking the cup winners cup seriously.

Be amusing in a way If we lost tonight and then got reinstated because of Fenerbache which one of the losing sides probably will.

If we were in the position to win a different trophy and the CL loss would hit our confidence, then I'd rather be in the Europa but for every other situation, a better competition is better.
