Santos probably won't start because it will seriously injure or even kill Gibbs. Arteta gets injured in the 72nd minute, remember? Just after we use our last sub to replace Chesney with Chamakh, for no sane reason. It'll have to be RvP but it's okay, he'll score it bottom right with power.

Benayoun is a must start(tm). Walcott needs to sort his life out tbh...scored a cracking goal in the same fixture last year but I'd be tempted to start arshavin because I think he'd get a lot out of benayoun. We have been missing that 'link' player for ages since Hleb left. Rosicky never got there in the end. Benayoun's pass to play van persie in on goal (and the one directly before that) is the type of thing we need right now.

i totally agree we need to start performing soon but at the moment, and looking at our next 6 games, i will hope by end we are performing for chelsea but those next 6 are fucking tough games imo. lets just get some posistive points, imo i think 12 would be a fantastic acheivement by the team, and i really dont care how they do. get those points the confidence will flood back and you will see the performance improve massively

Blackburn v Arsenal (1245 BST)

Arsenal got a great result in Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday, despite conceding a late equaliser, but defensively they were all over the place for the first half-hour.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger says we should know in a couple of months what sort of team they have got and they are clearly still trying to find their feet, and finding the best way to get the best out of new players like Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun.

Blackburn sat with two banks of four players against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday and pinched a point, but I think they have to be more ambitious here.

If I were Blackburn boss Steve Kean, I would be thinking that Arsenal have got three or four new players so get amongst them, and get in their faces.

Rovers have not won a point at Ewood Park so far this season, and Saturday would be a good time to start. They need to give their fans a lift.

Prediction: 1-1

Yep, and there are signs from Arshavin he might be sorting his shit out. Gervinho is making the difference up front and we're getting players forward at pace which is a huge plus. It's the defence though, why the hell didn't we get that sorted in the summer? Whatever the outfield manages to do the defence is always liable to offset it. I know Merts is settling in but there aren't many good signs from him right now. It was disappointing to see him rolling around the place early on after being tapped. The Blackburn manager is pretty poxy though, he must be able to see the weak areas but he's doing nothing about it. Hopefully he's a stubborn as Wenger and won't chance anything for the second half.

Slightly better decision making in the final third by Gervinho and it could have been 1-4.

Arshavin and Walcott have made as many poor decisions in recent weeks though.

Szczesny looks a bit shaky today, hopefully he gets it out of his system in this match.

Gervinho, Arshavin, Arteta look good. Song having another sloppy first half; at least he should be brilliant in the second half.

Best we've looked going forward so far, Song, Ramsey, and Arteta are playing in some good balls. Gerv and Arsh look very lively, just need to do better on the counter attacks. We can't keep defending like that on the set pieces tho, cause at some point we are gonna pay for it.

He's been 50/50 again, great one minute and incredibly careless the next.
