Ok seeing as I am bored shitless I thought we should maybe have a thread for this as the xmas lights are on, the German market has begun in Leeds and I saw the Coke advert last night for the first time this year.

What you all doing? Anyone going away? What do you off-whites/heretics do?

What you buying your kids? Your Wives/Husbands?

What is your budget per offspring?

and when are we having xmas smilies?

With my folks on xmas day, going to Estonia on 27th.

25 quid per head for pressies.

I want a hamper of supplies, such as; mayo, pasta, rice, deodorant and razors.

And it's not all for eating, no.

My folks are actually away this year. It's the first time ever we won't all be together at Christmas. So me and my brother have just decided to throw one huge house party for Christmas Eve. Probably have a few mates over the next day for food and all that.

You're all invited, of course.

This lil girl is taking xmas too seriously Poor Santa

Christmas letters to Santa asking for a new bike or toy are usually endearing notes penned by wide-eyed innocent children.

But Mekeeda Austin has warned Father Christmas that he will be ‘killed’ if he fails to deliver at least two of her long list of gifts – including a BlackBerry smartphone and ‘the real-life Justin Bieber’.

The 13-year-old goes even further and threatens to ‘hunt down’ Old Nick’s reindeer so she can ‘cook them and serve their meat to homeless people on Xmas day’.

Her mother, Tracey, from Brickhill, Bedford, found the note – which ends ‘Remember… two of these, or you die’ – in Mekeeda’s school bag but has vowed to try to meet her daughter’s demands rather than punish her.

‘When I first found the letter, I thought it was funny. Now I think I’d better get her what she wants. The last thing I want is for her to kill Santa,’ said Mrs Austin, 40.

And the demanding Mekeeda added: ‘I don’t really believe in Santa any more but I was angry because I thought I wasn’t going to get all the presents I wanted this year.

‘I want all of these things and I don’t see why I shouldn’t get them.’

Her life really is filled with cowpats from the Devil's own Satanic herd

:blackadder:

Maybe I'll text her or somethink.

Tube drivers are wankers, frankly. They get paid shitloads for a reasonably easy job. OK, it's a responsible one and involves unsociable hours but the way they constantly hold the capital to ransom like this is disgraceful. Someone needs to get a grip on this, the unions have been taking the piss for years. People moan about Public Sector workers striking because of years of pay cuts, redundancies and pension cuts but the Tube unions go on strike when they don't get triple pay on Boxing Day. Well boo-twiddly-hoo. Mrs L earns less than a third of what a Tube driver gets, works equally unsociable hours working in a care home doing some quite unpleasant jobs looking after old people (yes yes, good preparation for our marriage, blah, blah). She doesn't get paid even double pay for Bank Holidays because in that profession it's accepted they need to have staff there 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and that's just how it is. They don't go on strike. Ever. I don't think there's even a union or if there is I'm sure she's not in one. They rely on the fact that people do that kind of work because they care, not because they're after ever spiralling wages (when most others are getting pay freezes or, worse, pay cuts or redundancy).

If they don't want to do the job for £45k then sack them and find someone who will. There are loads of unemployed people right now who I'm sure are capable and willing to do it.

The reason why there are so many tube strikes is because Bob Crow doesn't believe in the Capitalist system. While the other Union bosses simply want a reformed Capitalist system, Crow realises that workers are inherently being exploited by the very fact that they get paid a wage, and their labour has been commodified. Even though Tube drivers seem to be getting regular pay increases not in keeping with other sectors of the economy, they are still being exploited because they are not being paid all the value that they create, and a significant amount of that value is being taken by management. It's just that Crow's "militancy" means Tube drivers are slightly less exploited than other sectors.

Saturday going up to MrsL's early afternoon with dad in tow for their traditional Christmas Eve buffet.
Christmas Day at MrsL's, go to church then eat the dunno...telly and board games probably.
Boxing Day coming back by coach as no trains are running. Not sure what Tubes will be running so may have to get home from Victoria which is a palaver but can be done.
Had no plans for the 27th but now it's Arsenal. Anyone up for the Pins at 1pm?

I wouldn't count on it. Wenger will find a way to fuck it up. That will leave it up to individuals to try to rescue it. I think people are underestimating the severity of the managerial liability we are carrying into each game. With him at the helm it all becomes random.

Chavs, yes.
City - only 4 fewer points than at this stage last season.
So no, not really.
:tiphat:

I wonder how you hold in your head the two thoughts simultaneously that us having 2 more points than at this stage last season is "the same" (which over that number of games I agree it pretty much is) and City having 4 fewer is a "collapse". Hmm.
