View Full Version : Something has changed already

We have all been commenting that things have to change. While it is a small change, the newly announced pre-season tour to Malaysia and China could be a significant change in the long-term operations. It might also signal a change in Wenger's status within the club hierarchy. Previously, Wenger has rejected any calls for a pre-season tour in favour of his low key Austrian escapade.

Money-spinning. What does it do for the team? Anything?

Yes, it is money spinning but it is something that has not been done before; that is my point. Until this point, Wenger has been able to dictate the pre-season events. It would appear that this has changed. Now, this might be the only thing that changes, or it might be the first in many changes (all positive hopefully).

Which will be held just after the game (might as well have it before the season starts no false hopes)

On the new yacht.

Aboard the small, mobile yacht which sails around trying to find a way into the dock but never quite manages it and springs a leak around February time.. I shouldn't have started this yacht analogy

Agreed, it wasn't wise to float this, but no point trying to row it back now, that ship has already sailed.

Many thanks for the save. I was all at sea after my attempt.

You may have on something here TG

Not for the sake of raising hopes or anything, but this is one thing Wenger was vehemently dead against, and I think a cherished part of "His Way" of doing things. Commercial pressures are telling and the club realise they have to grow their fan and commercial revenue base, so this is the beginning of that strategy. In other words he's had to bow down to the instruction from upstairs on this one.
