Hopefully Liverpool are still drunk, don't fancy a hammering first game of the season really.

3-0
We just need to come out if it injury-free, that's all that matters.
Knowing Arteta, he'll risk all our best players as usual and tell them to really go for it
Well the spuds think it’s a major trophy so it’s a must win
Oi! None of that. You're talking about the Ipswich Hospital Charity Cup Winners: 1951/1952 (joint)
:haha:
The fact that stuff like that is on their official site honours page still makes me lol every time.
EDIT: And they actually do list the Charity Shield under "Major Honours" :haha:
Ah Spuds, don't you ever change.
To be fair across Europe their Super Cups are seen as an honour worth winning. It’s only here really that it’s seen as a glorified friendly.
Winning or losing it doesn’t mean much granted but you actually have to win something in order to compete for it, so for me it’s always a nice bonus to add to the trophy cabinet.
Oh sure. I quite like when we win it but don't really regard it as a trophy.
Oh go on then, one more.
Spurs have won the FA Cup 8 times in their history. Since they last won it we have won it 9 times
The Women's Community Shield is on before this.
That means we'll probably be playing on a fucked up pitch.
Depends we might be able to get the women to iron the pitch when they've finished :ninja:
Man, I really don’t know if I’m ready for football again yet? Feel like I need another 3 or 4 weeks off...
We're playing in our White atrocity for some reason.
Guess it's to troll the Spuds that they won't be in this match for some time.
November is the new October this year, I hope.
But... that means Christmas is the new November!
Anything less than a repeat of last years' Carabao game will be a disappointment.
Got a horrible feeling this is going to be a massacre - really wouldn’t be surprised if they did us for 6 or more. Even with everyone available, this Arsenal team is horribly unbalanced, so I’m really not holding out much hope with so many players still filtering back from their holidays - really have no idea what we’re going to have to work with today.
Plus Liverpool are weeks ahead of us on their preseason, whereas we’ve had 2 training sessions!
2-0 win tbf.
Is it preseason rules on how many subs you can make?
6 usually for the Community Shield:
Arsenal: Martinez, Bellerin, David Luiz, Holding, Tierney, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Xhaka, Saka, Nkeiah, Aubameyang.
Subs: Leno, Cedric, Saliba, Kolasinac, Olayinka, Willock, Nelson, Smith Rowe, John-Jules.
Liverpool: Alisson, Williams, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Milner, Wijnaldum, Mane, Salah, Firmino.
Subs: Adrian, Keita, Grujic, Jones, Minaminio, Tsimikas, Brewster, Elliott, Koumetio.
Interesting... Martinez and AMN both keep their places.
That “midfield” though.
Any chance Mo has turned into the second coming of Vieira since he’s been in Turkey?
Martinez starting probably is just to dupe him in to staying.
BT's programme starts at 4pm.
RAWK says Arteta has a serial killer look.
They have Klopp though.
BT Player keeps giving me notifications for Egg Chasing scores. :sarcy:
Will Auba get another chance to lift the FA Cup today then?
:trophy:
Advert for Amazon's Spud documentary. :haha:
Looks hilarious.
Cancelling Amazon Prime subscription...
i've only just seen the Liverpool lineup :faint:
this will be a massacre
The fact that this is genuinely our strongest midfield combo right now really should send the owners and execs a message...
Come on Arsenal.
Come on Mickey! Tactic the shit out of this!
We'll be hoofing it long for Auba to chase in this game anyway so it probably won't be all that much of a standout issue.
Why do Liverpool have a white trim?
Dunno what goes through these kit manufacturers heads.
Tierney with a Holding tribute act.
