    Calling all nerds

    Hi
I've found a laptop that I've reserved to buy tomorrow. Haven't put down a deposit or anything. Can u give me your opinion.

It's ex-display btw and comes without a charger. Post Christmas clearing.

    Dell Inspiron Q15R
    15.6 " home computing laptop
    Windows 7 home edition
    Intel i3 - 2310m processor type
    2.10 ghz MHz processor speed
    3gb mb memory size
    DDR3 memory type
    500gb hard drive capacity
    DVD+R/RW optical drives
    16 x cd rom speed
    16 x cd-rw speed
    16 x dvd-rom speed

    Price was 450
    On sale for 280
    Comes with 12 month guarantee

What's your opinion? Should I go for it?

    Thanks

Cheers NQ. All I want it for is typing up stuff and surfing. Isn't it good value for money though??

It's about standard for what is a low end machine. But if all you want is typing and surfing then it would be a waste of money to get anything else. It'll do the job and the price is okay, probably a bit better than okay considering it's a Dell and at least they use decent components. If you go cheaper then you'll end up with something pretty nasty.

N_Q being an Apple-loving, Sky-subscribing tech nerd is quite damaging to the image he had carefully constructed for himself.

I suppose that's the danger of this warts-and-all-social-media-reveal-everything-about-myself-on-the-internet-age.
