It's not really the same though. I think our circumstances and history with RVP was a bit more complex.
Suarez got them 30 goals they wouldn't otherwise have got but he wasnt the team captain and hasn't been there that long.

Plus they h net got top 4 for years and didn't even make Europa this time.

So it's understandable why he wants to leave.

RVP's situation was completely different, his contract was running down, he'd been here years realising we were never going to achieve anything after talking to the club and was almost 29 (latter stages of his career).

its exactly the same. we stood by rvp through all his injureis for 8 years. we kept giving him a chance, one fit season and he fucks off as you say because he knows he isnt going to win anything.

suarez, while club stood by for different reasons, is 26, realises he wont acheive what he wanst there, has a better chance with us. is moving to further his career.

But even then, any pwomise made by Rodgers is irrelevant because it's in his contract.

If the guy was so sure he had the ace card, he wouldn't have to spout it in a stupid interview with the people he apparently hates, and his agent(s) would already have called in the lawyers. All this guff about promises, and changing the terms of this clause from a written £40m+, to £35m to a verbal agreement suggests they are on very shaky ground.

Nope, Suarez has been at Liverpool what 2 1/2 years, signed a new contract last summer as well, plus he's 26 not 29.

Wenger's choice to keep hold of RVP, we did it for ourselves not for him, he got to 29 realised it was his last chance to win stuff and recognised that was never going to happen here, which is fair enough.
