Callum Brown was injured in a horror booby trap bomb blast six years ago while on his final patrol in Afghanistan before coming home - and still endures pain from the injuries.
Since he was airlifted home the 28-year-old has been treated by specialists at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham which has dedicated facilities for military casualties.
But on his last visit to its Royal Centre for Defence Medicine he says he was told that he will no longer be treated at the hospital because he does not live in England.
Former lance corporal Callum, who is from Ayr, fears that a lack of specialist treatment and medication could cost him his life.
He told the Daily Record: 'I am sitting here without my legs because I fought for this country.
'This is the ultimate slap in the face. I am still in shock and can barely get my head around it.'
A staff member at Queen Elizabeth Hospital admitted to Callum that he was 'ashamed' the Scot could no longer be treated there.
Doctors, teachers, cops, look at what a shit mess all these professions are in. Serving almost precisely the opposite purpose to the original intent. Pill pushers, brainwashers and tax collectors. But it could be very different if the majority stood up to the minority. Too much complacency, cowardice and subservience for that to ever happen. This does sound ridiculous but I seriously doubt this is the doctor's fault, I imagine this edict has come from way above their pay grade.
