Can't see him wanting to take a step down and join usLeague Cup winners Swansea fear they may face a fight to keep 28-year-old captain Ashley Williams. Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been linked with summer moves for the Wales centre-back.

I think this summer might be one of building for the future transfers. A lot of work can be put in preparing the ground for Jacks move in a couple of years so I don't necessarily see the summer window as a complete write off. If only Theo could find a bit of form he's still a sneaky option. He may be setting himself to peak at the right moment so no worries yet about his abject performances. Not sure if we could engineer a Cazorla wants to go home crisis and the get away selling him to City, but PHW could be rolled out to thank any disgruntled or incredulous fans for their interest in the club's affairs.

normally i wouldnt care if sagna left but we need to stop this rot of players leaving hence why i think its crucial we keep him. sure we can replace him cause he has been absolute dog this season but if it means we end this circle of unrest then be it, just give him a new contract even though he's been shit. the wider context and message is more important here.
theo broke the cycle but its important we keep it going. cant go 1 step forward then 2 back.
plus im sure cafu will break into the first team soon anyway. sagna can rot on the bench. he'd actually be a very good back up to have.
Signing Monreal showed that there is a way if you have the will.
2-3 months of Andre Santos must have been a bridge too far.
I wonder about the "what this club is about" comment too. I particularly wonder whether the self-professed core values of the club haven't been co-opted for spin making purposes.
Think people are too harsh on Sagna. He remains one of our best players and our strongest defender by a mile. He's been exposed this season because no bugger else offers him any protection on counter attacks - theo doesn't do defence, without song there is no one tracking across effectively from a defensive midfield position, and mertesacker not mobile enough to cover any more than the central channel.
It would be beyond madness to sell him when you need his experience to help jenkinson develop - it would show we've learnt absolutely nothing from the last 8 years.
Is he a nutter?Arsenal face competition from Italian trio Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan to secure fiery Athletic Bilbao defender Fernando Amorebieta, 27, on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Perhaps we can tempt him over here through the superior English cuisine and culture.
who?ARSENE WENGER is eyeing up a £7.5million summer move for Eintracht Frankfurt star Sebastian Rode.
SunSport can reveal the Gunners have been tracking the Germany Under-21 defensive midfielder.
Rode, 22, is considered one of the Bundesliga’s rising stars and Arsenal face stiff competition from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
It is understood he would jump at the chance to play in the Premier League.
He has just 16 months left on his contract and has so far refused to sign a new deal which means Eintracht will have to cash in at the end of the season or risk losing him for nothing.
This season Gunners boss Wenger has repeatedly raved about the Bundesliga being Europe’s hotbed of talent.
Arsenal desperately need to shore up their midfield by bringing in a ball-getter who will shield the backline.
Snatching Rode from under the noses of Bayern and Dortmund would be a coup — but more importantly it will be a big boost for the quality and depth of Arsenal’s squad.
