Arsenes back![]()
Arsene always has said he didn't spend because there was no money.
Gazidis has always said there was money if the manager needed it.
Ah bollocks to it, at least there's money now, of that there can be no denial or misdirection.
I'm guessing Wenget meant spending £42 million on a single player without needing to have sold that same amount. We spent more last summer after all but little bit sold RVP and Song.
Song
I forgot about him.
How he is not missed.
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.
Yeah but he is winning trophies. Or having trophies won for him. Or something that justifies that ridiculous career move.
speaking of which. Still a bit unbelievable we got Mehzut Orzle.
Spending £42m would bankrupt the club, eh?
Hopefully, we can close the chapter on this sorry saga, but from his words, his either being too cautious, isn't that smart or he's trying to play us for chumps.
Money was just spent badly and he looked to spread the cost across a range of players instead of focusing a good sum of it on a great player. We could have done this sort of move years ago,
Absolutely that's what he meant. Net spend.
I reckon it must have cost us some (relatively small) amount of cash paying off deadwoods as well, which I feel is significant in how it differs from previous deadwood policies.
It was more the fact that they chose to contradict each other constantly. If you wanted to push the "we have money/we have no money" angle the least you could do is try and stay on message.
Maybe there was a strategy behind it, but buggered if I know what it was.
I am sure it has been said before but Real Madrid are stupid. 42.5m absolute bargain. Hahahahaha
I knew he was a great player so wasn't worried about the money we spent on him, what's been great is that his presence has raised the game of a number of players in the team.
Big money signings![]()
I don't think Real are stupid, I just think it's been such a long time since we had a player of Ozil's quality come in that we have completely forgotten what it feels like. Real have a handful of players of that quality.
Real do have Isco, Ronaldo and Bale, all 3 of which are providers and goal scorers and we paid them a lot of money for Ozil. The most they have ever been given in fact.
