Mata won't make a huge difference, Utd have problems all over the pitch and they'll need to spend big to correct them. But even then they have a problem several magnitudes bigger which can't be overcome with a few signings - Moyes.

This is good news. The Utd fans will be calmed by this and it will buy Moyes more time to keep destroying the club. Plus the chavs lose their best player. It's a good day all in all if not a totally inexplicable.

As proved tonight. United are woeful. But a decent manager would be able to extract positive performances from that team. The squad being aged/shit is a terrible excuse. There's still loads of talent there. If Moyes wasn't British, he'd be hounded out of the country and every move of his would be pathetically scrutinized. As it is, we'll continue to hear 'Poor David Moyes' stories. He's doing a great job for every non-United fan. Lomg may it last.
