World Food Programme estimating that acute world hunger will double by end of 2020. That's 250,000,000 people suffering by the end of the year. That's just one cost associated with the vaccine profit drive. Socialise the cost, privatise the profit.

So a while back you were saying it was a load of fuss about nothing.
Then you were asking why the schools were still open.
Now it's all a vaccine profit drive?

The first (and seemingly correct) assessment was the pandemic being similar to the seasonal flu. The latest Stanford study concludes as much.
Then we had the intervention from Gate's stooges at Imperial College, and the hypothesis was millions of deaths. So certainly, steps had to be taken to prevent that.
Now the real data is rapidly emerging supporting the initial assessment that this is like a second, partially overlapping bout of seasonal flu.
Infection rates are high, mortality rates are very low, as demonstrated by Euromomo's latest data that shows the rate of excess deaths for 2020 as still not having exceeded mortality statistics for 2018.
Therefore there was no need for a lockdown at all. Nations, and states in the US that decided not to go with lockdown are demonstrating this reality.
But in light of the absurd data from Imperial and the unfortunate use of this data by governments around the world, nobody can be criticised too heavily for ordering a shutdown. It's rather galling though our standard government response here in the UK would have been the correct one, but we chose not to take it.
With real data emerging, there's no longer any need for this lockdown. It was a mistake based on dramatically inaccurate modelling (by Gates stooges) and now it is mostly the Gates stooges who are demanding we stay locked down until a vaccine is available. It's pretty obvious what their particular interests are. Hopefully the government will soon start ignoring them.

By the way, the banksters also piled on and took another round of huge bailouts. So that was another strand to the complex mesh of interests that have used this pandemic for profit.

Or, put another way, yes the pandemic can be real and yes, certain parties can use it for personal advantage. The two are not mutually exclusive.

whatever your view of coronavirus policy, all the Gates hate undermines the credibility of your arguments - this is a man who has put more personal money into saving people's lives - and in third world countries - than any other through combating malaria and AIDS

of all the people you could choose to have a go at, he has to be one of the people in the entire world to be least worthy of it

he has no conspiracy, nothing to gain - just get over him already if you want to be taken seriously

I've heard enough medical professionals say that this is not just like a flu to make me think that is probably true.
And health systems in some countries have been undeniably stretched, so this does feel a bit different from other "pandemics".
But the numbers are, in context, pretty low. We're probably going to reach 200,000 deaths soon but the infamous curve is flattening, I can't see us getting anywhere near a million, let alone the 50 million the Spanish Flu wiped out, and that in the context of a much smaller global population than we have now.
I don't know if the lockdown was the wrong thing. There has been a slowing down of the growth and it seems probably that more people would have been infected had that not done it. Sure, not everyone is following the rules but a lot of people are and that surely has to help.
But it does feel like there's less justification for it all than there was. And the collateral damage on the economy, people's mental health and their physical health if they can't get treatment or diagnosis for other conditions is not worth this level of restriction on people's lives.

yes they wanted to slow it down and now they have, after this latest lockdown period it's going to be time to relax thimgs a bit or the harm outweighs the good for sure.

This just goes to show how little you know about Gates and his foundation. But you are always at liberty to inform yourself.

I'd agree with most of that. Bad models led to bad, though well intentioned, decisions. Now good data should be leading to sensible decisions, but key individuals are advising continuation of the initial bad decisions. I'm proposing there is a specific reason for that, based on the appalling track records of the individuals concerned.

I've lost track of when this latest 3 week extension expires, but if the government comes back and says more of the same I can't see how they'll justify it. If they are genuinely concerned about health and wellbeing and the long term futures of so many people in this country they are going to have to end this lockdown. And I predict we won't see a dramatic new spike in mortality, based on the evidence from regions that didn't lock down. Maybe we'll see a big spike in infections, but that will most likely be down to a growing number of tests, further demonstrating the ever reducing danger posed by this virus. And it will also reduce the requirement of vaccines to the level of the current influenza vaccine (for those most at risk), far less profitable than a mandatory, population wide vaccine for a supposed killer virus that keeps the nation locked down, or partially locked for months more on end.

I found this about the Bill Gates foundation

    https://www.thenation.com/article/so...-philanthropy/

I genuinely don't see a huge issue here. If he's using his money to get corporations to do work which will end up helping people then is that a bad thing?

What's he supposed to do, go to Africa and give everyone a tenner? If he's using his wealth to influence corporations to doing work which will benefit disadvantage people then I don't see how he's the bad guy.
