It's a stupid unlawful law that wasn't enforced, many stupid laws aren't enforced. You really don't see a problem with the requirement to carry an "exit permit" to leave the country?

Of the many infringements upon our liberties during this whole farce the inability to leave the country has always been the one that troubled me the most. One of the go to arguments when you disagree with policy in the country has always been "well leave" now you can't even do that! As far as I'm concerned they can fuck up the country as much as they want but I want no part of it. Thankfully I'm already out but if I am not a refugee I don't know what I am.

Wasting your time. These people don't understand the basic principles of liberty. They can't comprehend any form of existence other than subservience and living by the grace of who they perceive to be their betters. You could fuck them in the arse, steal their children and piss on their dog which you just set on fire and they'd apologise for taking so long with the tea and biscuits.

Whatever else is learned from this farce, we now know the vast majority of people won't fight for their rights. What happens next is therefore inevitable.

The final rollout of this "passport", "certificate", 'freedom pass", or whatever the fascists are calling it, will be called a "Service App". If you want service, you have this app. It'll be fully rolled out by 2025, which is a key staging point for the next UN phase of Agenda21/2030. The UK is leading the way again. First with untested vaccines, first in the west with a draconian, authoritarian social tracking system to rival that of the Chinese. Long way from Brit Pop, ain't it?

I broadly agree.
I have consistently said I think that the government’s response to this situation has been wrong.
But if you’re arguing that there isn’t really a situation to deal with then the data tells me you’re wrong. The ideal response would have been to shield only the vulnerable but doing that in a complicated, interconnected society is easier said than done.

Or. Maybe most people just understand that living in a society is a contract. A contract which means liberty in the way you define it isn't possible.
I have been through this before. If you want to live on a desert island on your own then cool. You can do what you like then.
If you want to live in a society though then there's a price to be paid, because then the things you do affect other people

Driving is a good example. Is it a terrible injustice that you can't just get in a car and drive how you like?
Why are "they" making me take a test? Why are there speed limits and road signs everywhere? Oh, the oppression!
Or maybe it's not because "they" are trying to oppress you, maybe it's because you can kill someone with a car, so making sure you can drive one competently and making some rules about how you drive is a sensible thing to do. You can argue about whether the rules are the right ones of course, but it would be idiotic to argue that there shouldn't be any and you should be able to do what you like in the name of "liberty".

You understand that not everyone can randomly uproot their life and go and live in another country for an extended period. If you have enough money to do that and no responsibilities here then good for you. Most people aren’t in that situation. Boasting that you are is a bit of a dick move.

I don’t think many people in this country are enjoying the restrictions put on us over the last year. Opinion is split on whether they were necessary. IMO some were, but overall I think the response has been wrong. But it hasn’t been some plot to crush and oppress us. The restrictions have changed as the data has and they have outlined a roadmap back to normality. I expect that timeline to change but the government clearly don’t want to lock everyone in their houses permanently. Why would they? They’re not doing that now actually. The army continue to not be on the streets. The curfews and checkpoints predicted by our resident prophet never happened.

In case you didn't know, there's a deadly virus going around that has cured all other respiratory diseases. If you don't wear a glorified dust mask and watch your phone in case it orders you to imprison yourself, you might get a runny nose.
