I believe the argument over global warming has long gone beyond the category of existential now. There is no doubt that it exists. even the loony fringe in the Republican party agree that it is real. They are only now using the argument that it is part of the natural earth cycle of freeze and defrost. Ignoring that we have never had such a rapid heating of the atmosphere in all recorded history. Just look at Greenland, that country was once blanketed by ice all year round. Now the place literally is GREEN-land with the ice thawing and the people contemplating farming for the first time in millenia. Greenland is becoming Ireland.
The politicians are the ones fighting against it because doing what is needed will require a seismic change is our way of life and cutting our fossil fuel consumption by maybe 70%.
