Hmm, I'm in neither camp about George Soros. I think this ridiculous gushing article overlooks how he has profited from destabilising financial markets and then turned around and claimed he had tried to prove a point.

But the reason he's truly despised by the right one suspects is because he's a liberal Jew, and to the right that's the worst kind of Jew. And plutocrats should be on their side.

He actually is the worst kind of Jew. He started early in his homeland Hungary where he'd accompany his father on his rounds. His father's job? Identifying Jews and confiscating their property prior to them being sent off to the camps. A nasty slur? Soros admits it. His justification is the same as always, if he didn't do it then somebody else would have. And that's underpins his entire philosophy. Mankind is there to be abused and manipulated because, hell, somebody's going to do it. A psychopath in the true sense, he's spread his violence all across the globe. Now he's bussing "protestors" into American inner cities so they can add a bit of spice to the liberal fallout following Trump's unexpected victory. His charming thugs advocate the rape of Melania Trump and the assassination of Donald Trump. "Philanthropists" like this we surely don't need.

People get dazzled by these large numbers. "Ooh, look at all those zeroes". Actually in terms of GDP and budgets of things at national level it really isn't that much.
And the royal family bring in significantly more than they cost.

EDIT: Also, that money is over 10 years. So let's round up and say that's £40m a year.
OUr defence budget this year, for comparison, is £35.1bn, with a b. A thousand times more.
Our GDP is £1.5tn a year (more, actually).

So

a) It's a tiny, tiny percentage of GDP
b) Most of that money will be going to builders and so on so the money goes back into our economy
