His one downfall was he didn't win them any trophies and yes it went a bit wrong for him at the end but overall he certainly isn't a fraud and would be a massive step up from Ole.
he got lucky with a good squad that were all in form at the same time - the real test of a good manager is how he deals with it when things go wrong, and he was a total fail on that front.
