Why oh why do they think that retrospective analysis necessarily means undermining the ref? That is horseshit. Everyone with more than half a brain cell accepts that refs are human, have to make an on-the-spot judgement that with hindsight might be incorrect. So correct it. If the ref is continuously fucking up, then the ref needs to go anyway. People will accept the odd ref error as a matter of course.

I don't understand it either. They aren't prepared to break up the flow of the game so at least do it after the fact - every other sport does yet football remains in the dark ages, relatively speaking.
