On consistency, it's hard to argue with those individuals (apart from Baines, who's not actually very good), but Dempsey and Mata are out of place and the idiots who vote would put shite like Parker over Song and Walker over Sagna. And only form until Christmas seems to count.

I can get worked up by the sportwriters choices but never this one. If footballers want to pick their favourite players in a year then let them, we're not really anyone to argue.

We know plenty of them are thick as pig shit and probably need help to know which way round you sit on the toilet seat and that they need to vote in February because it takes 3 months just to count up a few votes and give a prize out.

But I will concede that they probably know better than me who actually gives them a tough match and who doesn't.
