    Knives Out

    Loved it!
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.

Dragged on a bit too long and the main plot was probably the least interesting aspect of it, but the interaction between the characters and a brilliant cast really give it a spark .

Daniel Craig has also has finally made up for Dick Van Dyke.

Don't bother with Midway. Bonkers film. Huge sprawling build up, main action then flashes past hardly covering any of the details of the battle (which are very important historically), then it has a happy American style ending. Effects are good but that's about it. Americans are stereotypes, chewing gum, heroic sacrifices, bullet proof. Japanese are stereotyped, trying to commit suicide every 5 minutes, doing sneaky stuff.

    Dark Phoenix.

It's a shame how bad this is, given how good First Class and Days of Future Past are.

    Sophie Turner is atrocious.

MrsL and me made a rare foray to the cinema for that one and I'm glad I did.
Beautiful cinematography and given that the story is necessarily linear and simple, it works incredibly well.

    A Quiet Place

Hmm. Finally got around to seeing this.
Quite good. Possibly a better idea for a film than it is a film, but quite enjoyed it.
Few bits that didn’t really make sense but you could say that about a lot of films.
And MrsL loved it because for once she could talk through it without me shouting at her because I can’t hear what anyone is saying

    Shazam!

I was expecting it to be terrible but it was a lot of fun!
