Watching The Last King of Scotland. Not expecting much. James McAvoy is arguably just a mini Colin Firth although unlike Firth he's appeared in quality films such as the first Narnia and the recent xmen. He was even in Wanted which is shite but twas something different to what he usually does so there's hope for him yet
McAvoy was good in Atonement and Inside I'm Dancing too, probably his best films.
I'm not sure if there's enough violence, sex, action, explosions etc. in them for you. There is sex and explosions in Atonement though.
Funnily, I agree with you about Firth. Although I liked The King's Speech, before this he was mainly remembered for being a generic bumbling/charming Englishman in mostly fluff pieces. Now he's the new Alec Guinness and Laurence Olivier overnight. British over-hyping at it's best. Just like football.
He did win an Oscar didnt he?
He was very good in the film. I actually liked the film
8/10
Watching The Last Samurai tonight
