It would also help do away with the perception that it's 2nd rate and a consolation prize. The competition needs to stand on it's own.
The name Europa League is piss poor. They Should have kept the tradditional name of the Uefa Cup and still kept the Cup Winners Cup. I also think Champions league drop outs should not be allowed a back door to the competition as it makes a mockery of the competition and undermines its value. Go back to renaming the Uefa Cup for FFS Platini.
