ronaldo single handedly won madrid the title last year, had a great euro's, smashed pretty much all the madrid records and a lot of la liga records.
barca didnt win la liga or the european cup. had quite a bad year considering their standards.

madrid won the league last year with ronaldo doing well, however aren't they now 14 points or something behind barca already? so thats only rewarding ronaldo for half a season, yes he helped win the league, but messi has performed all year given he scored 91 goals.
