Hello. I'm Leonard Nimoy. The following tale of alien encounters is true. And by true, I mean false. It's all lies. But they're entertaining lies. And in the end, isn't that the real truth? The answer is: No.

Very different shows. Homeland is dealing with heavy and current political issues. The sort of thing you laugh at NQ about and think is fictional but at the same time you see the headlines about Russian assassinations and Zuckerberg being dragged before Parliament.

Tried to watch the pilot but wasn't in the mood. No reflection on the show, just wasn't ready to embark on another series at that time. Never went back to it.

I watched the Waco thing most recently. There's always one good guy in these shows. And that might even be true in real life. But the show concentrates on the good guy who tends to have minimal effect, and glosses over the underlying evil of the whole. They use the good guy to apologise for institutionalised corruption and incompetence, then set the two against each other and conclude things are balanced. It's a lie.

Don't know if Homeland goes down the same route, but I'll give it a try when I get the chance.

24 is the classic. Guys, I have no choice, I have to do this torture thing because I'm so committed to good it's entirely appropriate for me to be evil. I think I may have been the only viewer who wanted to see Jack get blown away.

It's worth giving it a go. It's a different show compared to how it first started. Nothing like 24 in how it presents good and evil. Once you get past the first 3 seasons and the show ditches the premise that the pilot is based on, it grows into a different animal. Digs deeper into the intelligence agencies and their role in politics.

It's on Netflix. The first season was good, second and third not so great, but season 4 is where they decided to take a new approach and I'm glad a stuck with the show since.

Sounds like an ordeal having to get to the guts of it. Might be a pre-Christmas task when the woes of the world are winding down. But if it really does go into any sort of detail about the intelligence communities then that will be interesting. I wonder do they go down the pedophilia path, which is at the heart of what the intelligence agencies (particularly German, British and American) specialise in? Don't tell me, it can be a sickening surprise if they go there.

The most important news of the year, sidelined near the bottom of the Daily Mail's fake news, trivia, porn, royalist grovelling, propaganda bullshit home page.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ted-court.html

A desperate article that avoids the elephantine key issue bar a brief mention in the very last sentence, dutifully trotting out the judge's ironically Nazi like, Stalin like, EU like ruling. The state is now offended on our behalf, without us having to lift a finger.

Think of all the benefits AI is going to bring, btw. Join the dots. See where we are heading.
