All of those options are, of course, contradictory. It was impossible to implement.

Any leave option on a new ballot needs to be clearly defined. The only defined deal that's available, or is likely to be available, is May's deal.

Well that isn't strictly true. The EU is changing and fast. They have stated that their aim is basically to become a federal states of Europe and it is legitimate to ask if we want to be part of that.

The remain campaign said that the leave campaign was lying about an EU army, we now know that was not a lie. We also know that the EU, as they said on twitter yesterday, wants to control all taxes for all member states. This would be a disaster. You cannot have brussels setting taxes on behalf of all member states. The economies of each state are too varied for this to be a success.

Remaining doesn't mean status quo and nothing changing, on the contrary, there could be several large changes. Why the EU needs an Army remains to be seen, especially since we have NATO. Also, given that several EU members do not pay the required amount for NATO (Germany, France etc), why would they pay for an EU Army instead?

It may be that this is the best way forward, but it is naive in my opinion to say that remaining is just the same as it is now when the EU is clearly pushing for more integration and a federal states of europe.

Im always shocked when supposedly intelligent people make dumb claims. Nothing can be changed in the EU charter without everyone agreeing to it. No EU army, no EU taxes. People make like he EU is made up of Martians who sole aim is to screw the UK. The EU is made up of UK reps too, Germany only rules the EU in brexiteers minds. The EU have said this is the offer, May too has said this is the best deal possible. Some people think that all that's needed is to go to Brussels and start shouting "No" over and over and they will concede and you will get everything you want. The exit bill is to pay for obligations incurred over decades. To pay for pensions of staff including UK origin, EU staff, to pay for contracts not yet concluded etc. Its not a fine.
