I texted my mate who works at Number 10 about this, opining that it was all descending into farce and we had to do something and that’s exactly what he said, we could end up with a hung parliament and be no better off.At least it is progress.

What’s the other option though? We have a government who can’t govern, we’re not going to get anything done like this.
It's quite obvious, it's really frustrating that MPs can't see it.
We have a really specific problem, it's easily solved by asking a specific question.

I agree, but it's not the only problem. The more fundamental problem is we have a minority government limping along who can't actually govern.
Luckily for them, inept as they are we have a very ineffectual opposition so they might still win a general election.
