Wouldnt initially have given England much chance of getting out of the group, but with the injuries to Suarez and other key players in Uruguay, there is a chance. Just like Arsenal however, they will get knocked out by the first decent team they meet in the next round. Also why isnt Cleverley in the squad?

Lamps is in there for experience if Gerrard gets injured, no doubt.

The squad is a thousand times better than 2010 though. That was a fucking travesty. I'm quite surprised that Roy of all people has done it.

The proof will be in the pudding though. They may be in the squad, but it's still very possible he could go with a "solid" 442 with Gerrard, Lampard, Welbz and Milner, with the youngsters barely getting off the bench.
It sounds like he wants a partnership between Rooney and Sturridge akin to the one with Suarez. Hopefully he realises Coutinho, Henderson and Sterling is integral to that "partnership" and it can't just be Ctrl C+Ctrl V.

There is a great chance to have an exciting, athletic, versatile and fluid attacking team in there. Hopefully we don't resort to cart-horse try-hard cloggers.

I hope England do do well. Not because I'm patriotic or owt, but because it would be nice to have a bit of positive atmosphere around instead of the constant doom and gloom every tournament.
