Little surprised Bernard's in the team. Not that he's not a good player but goes against the athlete ball philosophy.

    Remember when he was good?

And poor Mertesacker. Seems like it's more of a permanent tactical change than just the flu. Though given how well the Germans kept out France you can't blame Low for not tinkering with the lineup.

On paper Germany should stroll this. By far the superior team in every position bar Ozil. But I have a feeling Phil's pub team might stumble through by some bizarre and improbable means, especially if they are given a free hand to foul their way through the match again as they did against Colombia. Shame that super hyped Neymar isn't playing, because as ridiculous as it is, he'll be their excuse should they lose. In truth, they are an awful team and an insult to the Brazilian football tradition and if there's any justice they are going out tonight.

Could be a good decision could be a bad one, i think Brazil pose a lot more danger from set pieces than France and Mertesacker is the set piece king, but i suppose when you are worried about a side's pace you have to take that into consideration

Interestingly the match being on BBC, Brazil have won every game when they've been shown on ITV. But on BBC they drew against Mexico, and only progressed after a draw during full and extra time on penalties against Chile...not actually won a match outright on the Beeb.

Time to tie the proverbial lolly stick round it and curb the wankfest

Drink whenever the commentator mentions Ozil not performing well.

    Hopefully Klose breaks the record.
