That's true, but we did carry RVP with his injuries for a long time, likewise Rosicky, Diaby etc....it's cost us a lot money over the years.
If he manages to stay fit then that's great, problem seems to be he keeps getting injuries and therefore almost never plays. If this goes on for another 4 years we could have used that money to sign someone else theoretically.
Would have been good to say to him we'll give him another couple years and then review it after that.
