Any "team of the season" that doesn't have the following three in it is simply not reflecting the facts:

Kos - defender of the season - easily
Cazorla - possibly the most complete player in the league
Alexis - a force of nature (and he doesn't get sent off or leave his boot in or thrive on winding up the opponent)

Damn! Alexis' numbers are worth looking at in detail:

Astonishing. If this guy had been playing for the chavs or Utd the media would have arranged a parade by now.

They got Hazard right though, even better numbers than Alexis.

On the other hand, Hazard had zero cards for diving. So these numbers don't reflect the terrible bias played out over 38 games by the corrupt match officials.

Hazard - no cards for diving! Look no further if you want to confirm the bias on the pitch as well as in the media.

Kos hasn't been that good this season. Has been poor when Mertesacker wasn't around. Cazorla has been solid but not much more.

Would say no-one has had a particularly good full season (apart from Sanchez), but some key players have had good half seasons - Giroud, Ozil, Bellerin

Well on that basis Terry and Cahill must have been absolutely dire, so Kos still makes the team.

Cazorla has, without fuss, slotted into another one of Wenger's crackpot formations and has dominated the unfamiliar role - except maybe on a couple of occasions where he came up against clog dancers that booted him up in the air.

Pundits aren't looking for performances and consistency, they are looking for marketing material and hype. That's why the goal of the season competition last night on MOTD was a collection of players swinging boots and hoping for the best (apart from Zamora who meant it)

Opening line: It has been a fantastic Premier League season.

I bet he hated having to put Sanchez down

As much as it hates me to say it but I can understand Big Man and even Ivanonvic's selection to an extent but Cahill?? He's been dodgy as hell, was dropped for Zouma at times and made critical mistakes (like against PSG). Such lazy punditery.

Fonte and even Kos deserves it ahead of him.

    Matic ... meh

The Coutinho myth still lives on. Proof that spaffing in a few long rangers can make people view you as world class. Ozil, Fabregas, Santi, Silva (though poor by his own standards) all better IMO.
