Federer has been a bit scratchy on grass and you can't keep taking massive chunks of time off expecting to keep sharpness.

And I'm off for all 2 weeks of it.

Stan's movement really suffers on grass (and he wasn't the greatest mover to begin with) so I'm not sure he'll do anything significant.
Just caught the last part of BBC's 2017 review, which was more of a review film.
